As noted in other reviews this hotel is in a residential area which equates to a quiet and secure stay. Very attentive and helpful staff at all levels. The Wellington Hotel is very well located and it is truly a 5 star hotel. The service is impeccable, with great amenities, nightly turndown service, and an excellent executive lounge. We had a family double room for 3 adult and it’s roomy and comfortable. Right on Gran Via so it’s so easy for shopping and dining. The hotel has a roof top bar which has a beautiful view of Madrid. It’s an excellent place to spend the evening with friends/family.

This hotel is located in Salamanca, which is definitely an upscale area. Very high end shopping and an abundance of restaurants nearby. About a 20-25 minute walk to the Prado, Reina Sophia, and Thyssen museums. A great walk, don't bother with the bus or Metro. Definitely would stay again.
