Very busy city no matter where you go. Would not recommend driving, swarm of bicycles on the roads. Taxis and Ubers are affordable and reliable. Compared to Munich, Berlin feels more gritty with lots of graffiti. English is the dominant language

The rail system is incredible. You can get anywhere you need to without a car. The city is very clean. The people are lovely and so helpful. There was always someone to help with tickets at the rail station. The Big Red Bus provides great tours.

A great police presence wherever you went. Felt safe. Clean. Make sure you validate your travel ticket, we witnessed many people being fined even though they had purchased tickets but hadn't validated them out of lack of knowledge.

So much to see and do. If you're an architecture/design nerd then definitely check out Hansaviertal and anything Bauhaus. Also, make sure you have at least one dinner in an authentic German beer hall, nothing else compares!

Berlin is a very interesting city and easy to navigate via the subway, which is important to see east and west Berlin. Prices are very reasonable compared to most larger European cities...and especially compared to LA. :)
