Morelia is called the "Princess of pink stone". It was built by Spaniards in the 16th century. The downtown buildings are made out of this unique stone. Morelia has one of the most beautiful and impressive cathedrals in the world. It's very romantic.

I grew up in Morelia, I love the city, I enjoy strolling around the city center & spending time drinking coffee at Cafe Europa, in front of the beautiful cathedral, it was my father's favorite place, and I feel his presence when I'm there.

Found it to be safe and more fun than I expected. Haven't been here since 2003 so I enjoyed it.
"The place is beautiful, so cozy and colonial. The room was huge and had anything we could need (including a noise machine that we didn’t use, but it was nice to include it in the rooms). The staff was so friendly, welcoming and helpful, we got little welcome and goodbye gifts and they were just so sweet the entire time. Would 100% recommend to stay here and if I go back to Morelia, there’s no other place I’d rather stay in !! "
"The views of the city are absolutely jaw-dropping. The floor to ceiling windows allow you to see for miles and the hotel occupies the top two floors of the building so I imagine all the rooms get a great view. The bed was more comfortable than my own at home. Everything was in good condition. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Valet parking is just across the street and only cost 50 pesos (in July 2025).
There are lots of restaurants, Walmart Express, Sam's Club within a 5-10 min walk."
