Providence Marriott Downtown
10/10 Excellent
"I was greeted immediately by the staff at the reservation desk with a kind smile. Being from Texas general greeting and hospitality are important. First impressions show the kind of management your hotel brings to the clients.
My room was very clean. The bed and pillows incredibly comfortable. Best sleep ever.
I was disappointed that we had to pay a third party vendor for parking. I was also surprised that Hilton did not offer any food, such as bagels, fruit, or pastries at the coffee bar. Other than that, my one night stay was great.
Thank you"
"Untrained staff, yes it’s an old hotel but be wary and don’t talk loud in the hallways. The hotel boasts a bar, but there was an event.. so no one else could get a drink? That doesn’t seem like it would be hard to manage. They bombard you with upgrade offers before you go.. staff isn’t friendly.
The hotel is curated well as far as bohemian surf vibe, very clean.. but the senior level staff must know they have you by the b@lls when on Block Island."
"Having breakfast, there was a challenge. The breakfast, café woman was overwhelmed by herself, and when I asked the front desk person, she simply told me. "that's not our business we're separate." not the best answer.
Furthermore, the spa was closed I think permanently. The rooms are very nice. Very funky and well kept. The maid didn't clean my room one night and I'm don't know why."
"We were celebrating our anniversary here and the womanbat the front desk blessed us with a king suite upgrade, it was so nice to have the extra living room space! Driver of the shuttle was very nice and the staff at the hotel and restaurant were top notch. Restaurant was great, way better than I thought based on the "diner" vibe."
