Had a lovely stay at the Viking Hotel. They were able to accommodate early check in for us and the room was beautiful and very clean. We had drinks in the lobby bar and we loved it and also got coffee in the morning from their coffee shop inside the hotel. Would love to stay here again!

The location is perfect in Newport its walkable & the staff is elite tier they are so hopeful & was willing to answer so many of my ridiculous questions. The coffee shop tuckshop made an amazing morning cappuccino & breakfast was really good. Will be back in the future for longer stays

What a delightful stay at Hotel Viking! The location was convenient to the Cliff Walk (20-minute walk) and Bowen's Wharf (10-minute walk), in a quiet and safe-feeling neighborhood. The rooms were sparkling clean and newly renovated, with a great rain-shower head and really nice quality personal care products. The courtyard was lovely, with a large fire pit, seating, a food truck bar, and corn hole. The pool has cute cabanas and a nice hot tub. My daughter and I were pleased with the spa experience. Overall, a really perfect, historic-feeling place to stay in Newport.

Let me start with the good stuff: The front desk staff is lovely, and the valets are great and on the ball. The place is clean etc. etc. as it should be at $600 per night for the cheapest rooms which we booked. We probably got the worst of the Bellevue rooms when we arrived, even though we had made a reservation well in advance of our stay. The Bellevue rooms were described as "spacious" on the website. The rooms we got were truly awful. They were minuscule with about a foot of space around the bed -- and the rooms on the 2nd floor were just above the driveway where we had to listen to (and smell) a tour bus running its engine for a couple of hours on Thursday evening. The shower situation is problematic. It takes about 10 minutes to get something that feels like warm. We had breakfast at the hotel Friday morning. The coffee was pretty much just warm brown water. Dont go there if you actually want a cup of coffee. I would not stay at the Viking Hotel again and will not recommend it to anyone else.

Room was comfy, gigantic tv, had safe inside closet nice to lock stuff up, very updated and clean bathroom. Excellent bar and breakfast. Sat out by the high fire pit at night in rocking chairs. Very close to water front and stores not even 10 min walk. Had valet parking versus trying to park on the street. I would highly recommmed Hotel Viking. I have been to Newport a few times and would definitely stay here again.

We didn’t have breakfast at the restaurant because when we got there, they asked if we had reservation, which we didn’t, because the restaurant was fully booked, but there were many empty tables, and I thought it was a little disrespectful with us as hotel guests.

Bathroom is unusable can't even brush your teeth in that sink. Staff is poorly trained attemted to sit down for breakfast and was advised i need to join a wait list for an empty restroom because they are Short staffed !!

Our stay at Hotel Viking was average and didn’t quite meet our expectations, particularly when it came to service. Housekeeping often didn’t get to our room until late in the day, and both valet and bell services involved much longer wait times than expected. I want to emphasize that the staff members themselves were doing their best, and I don’t believe the issue was a lack of effort on their part. Rather, it seemed that management had not adequately staffed the hotel to accommodate the number of guests. Overall, the experience fell short of what we expected from a hotel of this caliber. With better staffing and organization, the stay could have been much more enjoyable.
