"I have stayed here many times over the past twenty years while it was ontheave hotel and now the arthouse hotel. Great property and fantastic location. My two gripes are the now $39 fee they charge as you check in. Yuck that! And they woke us up at 9:30am on a Sunday morning with many taps on the door to service the room. "A nice, human- scale NYC hotel well away from the insanity of the tourist areas served by day-trip buses. We had no issues with anything during our 4 day stay during the week before Christmas. Shower/bathroom and beds were particularly nice. We especially liked the three-tier shelving over the toilet for our stuff. The bathroom tilework was beautiful in room 1206.
