Castle Inn was safe, clean and economical. Our only complaint was a wet towel was left on the back of the bathroom door. Other than that the room was very clean, it was safe and had free parking.
I love that they share a parking garage with the Westin right next door, super convenient. Lots of shopping and reasonable walking distance to a lot of different things. Plus, the room is very elegant and understated. 10/10 recommend!
Hotel was fully remodeled with all new appliances & furniture including paint. Was nice to see the hotel in a clean new way for upcoming visitors. Elevator was not working at the time which was a slight inconvenience but the fact they provided free parking in such a busy city was a big plus. Would go back again.
This is a long standing hotel with great culture and history, in the heart of the tenderloin; aka crack head homelessness open drug trade on the streets, ect.. with that being said you cannot hear any of the noise from the room we stayed in at all, inside the courtyard is beautiful, the free parking is guarded by security and front desk 24/7 has a large window directly in front of the only entrance into the property that all the homeless respect. The week before we went i saw a number of reviews complaining about the fees at check in and the state of the property. Yeah, they charge a ~$35 per night amenities fee and $100 per night hold for incidentals - that can add up. But the restaurant on site/next door is very good with friendly staff and a nice bar, we ate and drank there a number of evenings out of exhaustion. Every time we come back to the city, we stay here. It’s been a family favorite for decades! We never have to drive anywhere because of the convenient location enabling us to walk or take MUNI wherever we go. We love the renovations done on the rooms, which are always spotlessly clean and spacious.
