"Place was good I really liked it. The bed was comfortable wish blankets were a little thicker though. Also wish the rooftop bar was open but other than that it was great."

"Let’s starts with Sebastian, best bartender around. Carried a conversation with us for two days straight about Playa. Served up awesome cocktails and by far the best asset to this resort. Find him to be your bartender. Rooms were very nice beds comfy. If you have the standard room, you want to be in room 410-422 for a surprise! Wish Off the Hook was open to try but next time! Food was fantastic for what we had time for.. Mexican restaurant was decent but make sure you get to the Italian restaurant, Wow was our food amazing there! Pool was nice, but the food hideout is at the beach bar! Check it out! "

Era nuestra primera vez en Cancún y la primera vez de mi esposo in an all inclusive and we honestly loved it and can’t wait to come back. I think it will be an annual trip."

"My husband and I enjoyed our time as we were only there to relax. We got the swim out room which was great bc we were able to relax in the pool at all times. The staff kept the property spic and span. The drinks were ok. They provided personal bottles in our room which were very strong. The buffet was ok. It’s Really what you make of it but the restaurants are great. I loved the Rodeo grill. The only thing is I wished they provided more information about amenities upon arrival versus me having to dial 0 every time I had a question. Nevertheless they answered quickly each time. "

"My family stayed at the riu palace riveria maya 7/1-7/6. We had a great time. Check in process was easy. We were able to check in slightly early due to our flight arriving in the am but had immediate usage of the property. Pools were well maintained and the food and drinks was on par for a resort. I liked that you did not have to make reservations for the restaurants. Beach had too much seaweed which wasnt the hotel's fault. You could walk about 10min down the beach and it cleared up so we did that. Access to other riu property in the area. We spent part of our day at one but we preferred the palace. Entertainment crew and nightly shows were amazing. The riu party at the riu tequila was so much fun. They even shuttled everyone over. Our six year old loved it. Our only knock was the room service menu. We had a lazy night and wish there were some better options. Luckily the lounge is 24/7 and had our munchies. Not enough to lower my rating. Room was very clean and housekeeping was on point and kept things stocked. Local shopping just outside the compound was nice. Felt safe(outside of pushy sellers). About a 15min walk. We were able to take family photos on the property and they came out great(use the app for a discount on services). Kids club was utilized and they did fun activities. Overall, we would stay at the riu palace rivieria maya again."
