The Westin Cozumel

"On the positive side, we stayed in a one-bedroom suite and the room was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The A/C worked exceptionally well. The bathroom was huge. The extra half bath was nice to have. All of the staff was very accommodating to our requests. The food and service in the restaurant were both very good. We were on a diving trip, so we didn't use either of the pools, but they looked very nice. We could have done without the naked babies in the pool, but we weren't using the pool so no skin off our noses. The covered chaise lounges at the Sky Bar were a great place to read a book. On the not so positive side, a couple of days before we arrived, we received an email from the hotel stating that they were beginning renovations the day before we were to arrive. The email stated that the amenities would remain open. Not true. When we got there, we learned that one of the two restaurants was closed. We were also told that a Continental Breakfast would be available at 6:30 am. That was only true on the weekend. So, the value of the all-inclusive package we bought was significantly diminished."

"We booked the room with the large balcony right off the malecon and the views were stunning from 2 sides. Book this room if you are able. It was amazing to wake up to these views. Hotel is very clean, staff is beyond nice, location is walkable to many great restaurants and our dive shop, parking though small was more than adequate for our needs, beds were comfy and WiFi and AC worked well. Only downside to the room was the street noise on Saturday was pretty loud, but my husband didn’t even notice it with his air pods on after a few beers. We would without a doubt stay here again and again."

"Hotel Cozumel is a great budget friendly resort but doesn’t feel budget friendly, the entire staff are amazing from the front desk to the servers to even the groundskeepers who work none stop to keep the resort looking great. Roger was a new server around the pool area and is amazing, Roger’s super friendly, very personable and is just a great guy. He went above and beyond for my wife and I and by the end of the week my wife and I felt like we went off and left one of our kids behind ( we did not leave a kid behind) but Roger just had that sense of caring and would do anything for ya. Highly recommend and if you stay at Hotel Cozumel Tell Roger (I’m guessing he’s the only Roger at the resort) But please tell him Mark and Tammy from Missouri say hello. We Do Not Dive with Dive Paradise. We dive with Island Divers Cozumel that pick us up at the dock/pier right at the resort. Dive Paradise have Slow Cattle boats (10-20 people per boat and run 5-10 mph) and island divers have smaller boats with 250-300 hp motors and a maximum of 8 divers."

"We have stayed here several times through the years. Staff has always been excellent. Rooms need updating though. Food has improved tremendously. The pools, beach, & outdoors are worth the trip. Best snorkeling on the island by far & it’s right out front of the resort. We will return! "

"Conveniently located to the ferry terminal and great scuba diving. Hotel was nice, food was good, and the resort is gig enough to have a variety of food options but not too huge. What prevents me from giving it a higher recommendation was the lack of staff support in solving a transportation problem. We booked a $250 hotel transfer from the Cozumel Palace to the Cancun airport…and the driver did not show up. The hotel said it was a 3rd party so not their issue, but would not remove the hotel charge. Very frustrating end to what was otherwise a good stay."

"I've been staying at the Hotel Barracuda almost every year since 1991. I've seen lots of changes over the years yet the staff are just as consistent and kind as ever. Love the convenience of Mega ( grocery store) across the street, daily housekeeping, common areas are kept clean and neat, pool bar/ restaurant has reduced prices for hotel guests, dive shop on premise, walking distance to town. 7-11 has awesome coffee. You can get a massage and/ or adjustment at the chiropractors clinic downstairs. I always enjoy my stay there . 24 hour security. I always feel safe there."

"Great for travel with kids. Steps from amazing snorkeling and a 5 min taxi from the City Center. A little dated and the shower drain backed up, but we loved our experience and the location. Staff was very friendly and kind."
