Wonderful boutique hotel with fabulous attached restaurant. Barbara, the manager/owner was warm and gracious and gave us great recommendations for traveling around. Highly recommend!!

Our stay at L’antica Conceria was excellent! Martino was wonderful- he provided us with very helpful information regarding Matera and addressed any needs. He arranged transportation to the bus station on our departure day as well as providing us with an early breakfast. The facility itself is beautiful. I highly recommend Martino and his property!

What a gem in this magical city. We loved where it was located a walk to all the heart (cathedral and restaurants etc) but during the day when it’s so over run with tourists you’re not in the center of it. The beds were fabulous! Best sleep of the trip. The best part was the staff and breakfast. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. They didn’t even shame me when I had 3 cappuccinos at breakfast (they’re small!) Loved this place!

I stayed on short notice at Casale di Maria and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The room was very charming and unique - in one of the historic sassi (cave hewn into the rocks) but with all the modern amenities you could wish for. I had parked a long way away but Walter, the owner, gave me a ride to my car and guided me to a parking spot near the house where I could park without getting a ticket till the next morning. Great location, amazing hotel!!

Great location with very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast. Lovely rooftop bar. You cannot drive directly to the hotel. Parking is a short distance away and you must walk to the hotel on cobblestone streets with your luggage, but this is not too difficult and true of many places in central Matera.

Our stay in this hotel was wonderful! The place is amazing, you get to experience an immerse adventure of the Matera spirit. The rooms was beyond beautiful and the service and food… just excellent! Definitely a MUST stay in this gorgeous city.

What a wonderful and unique experience. We are a family of 6 from NY, who struggle in Italian, but the staff here made it very easy to get squared away. The lady who must be the owner was very kind and so were the younger ladies. The rooms have more character than any hotel we’ve ever been to before. The pool is nice, all of the decor is perfect. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, the house red was equally great. The Chef comes by to talk to the guests. There were some other families...

Loved this hotel! We only stayed here one night but would love to come back another time. The hotel and rooms and clean and beautiful. The view from the terrace is beautiful, especially at night. The staff was spectacular and the breakfast in the morning was wonderful!

Stay here when you come to Matera. It's perfect.

Great place but difficult to find (see note at bottom if you want to avoid the 60 minutes it took me to find the place after arriving in the new town). One of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed at. Restored Palazzo next to the hill top Duomo in the Sassi with fantastic views over the old city and the canyons. This is a charming small hotel in the fascinating city of Matera. Our room was a beautifully finished cave. The restaurant serves a wonderful dinner also and breakfast was better than most.

Very nice hotel, in a remote area of italy , but a great stop along your drive to the west coast... Everyone was happy to help us , they spoke little english , but went out of there way to help.. The restaurant was GREAT, the chief made a amazing meal... the suff tried so hard to help and understand us.. we made it work and it was a great overnight stop and stay for some rest

Una hotels I love. Clean and updated. Parking free and easy. Staff amazing. This hotel had a restaurant and bar which was nice. Outside the old city but easy to get there by car. Not close to restaurants or shopping but nice for easy access.

Great place very close to the center of the town, everything is with n walking distance. Michel is very helpful and nice. Everything that you may need is there and the biggest advantage of this place is its location. I would highly recommend!!!!!!!!

Pipo was a great host, gave us great restaurant suggestions and a great breakfast every morning. Highly recommend even though not a fancy area.

Michele and his staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The only thing I can say that might be a detriment is the air conditioning could have been stronger. I will say that is was in the high 90s. I would definitely use this hotel again
