What a wonderful place to stay! The hosts were extremely nice and the B&B was immaculate. In the morning we had a blast talking with the owners and enjoying the beautiful spread they made for breakfast. I would recommend this B&B to everyone!
I believe this hotel was the best place I stayed from my whole trip. We had a great view and sooo close to everything. The staff was vey kind and she gives us multiple recommendation's. My gf was in love and excited. Recommended.
Nice, small B&B right outside the bustle of old town Matera on a more residential area. The rooms were clean and roomy (by European standards) and the continental breakfast was always ready for us in the morning. It was about a 5 minute walk to old town and sightseeing, where there were an abundance of restaurants to choose from.
Our host was very friendly and responsive. We enjoyed our stay.

Very nice room in a quiet, beautiful part of the countryside. Friendly host. Lots of sweet dogs on the property. Many need a bath and a little medical care, in my opinion, but they were a joy to see whenever we came and went. The wifi did not work in our room at all. Dining in the area is limited, but we did find a nice place for pizza nearby.

We had an amazing stay at the Cenobio Hotel! It can be a bit tricky to find if it's your first time in Matera, and you can't drive directly to the hotel. Plus, there are some steps to navigate both downhill and uphill. Knowing this from other reviews, we contacted the hotel before our arrival. They arranged a shuttle from the car park, which made things super easy for us. I highly recommend doing this if you're planning to stay here. Hotel first: Basiiani Hotel is a marvel in a town once called the 'Shame of Italy'. It is a hotel that is comprised of several rooms carved into caves that used to be people's homes. It is awesome. The decor, beds, bathroom and amenities all top notch. The staff friendly and the buffet breakfast was great. Highly recommended. Now the town of Matera.... you must go. Truly out of this world and worth every adjective of beauty.
Matera is a unique town and this hotel captures the special qualities. Each room is different and because it is part of the cave infrastructure of the town, some rooms are dark. I'd ask for a room with widows and terrace if going back.
Parking was excelent. Location could no have been better just in the outskirts of the old City. Staff was very kind and helpful both at checkin and giving instructions for tours and food. Room was very well kept
Beautiful accommodation in a Matera Saadi cave dwelling. Spacious and very tastefully decorated with all modern conveniences. Very quiet and peaceful. Extremely well located. Parking close by. Great pre-check in details and superb attention from the staff. Highly recommend.
