Hotel staff was amazing and friendly, so kind and nice. This hotel is an old mansion, there are only about 16 rooms, directly overlooking the walkway that is on the water and overlooking the ocean. Our room had a patio looking out at the ocean, with a hot tube, we slept with the doors open and the sound of waves all night long. What a unique property! We loved the character of the palace. The decor was really cool. The staff was excellent, great food and cocktails. I enjoyed the Vespar in the bar. Much better to stay here than in or closer to Porto Fino.

My friends and I loved staying at Hotel Vesuvio. It's just a five minute walk to the train station to enjoy all of Cinque Terra and the ferry stop to go to Portofino and Santa Margarita was across the street. There are plenty of restaurants, some cool 11th century ruins, and a daily farmers market all within walking distance. We has a "family suite" with a balcony overlooking beautiful harbor. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Astoria for 6 nights in March. Overall, it is one of the very best hotels I have stayed in over many years of traveling -- solid, classy, very well-located building; comfortable room with a view of the Bay of Tigullio; a bounteous, tasty breakfast; and perhaps most important, hands-on, fully engaged hotel owners and employees who really care for their guests' comfort and enjoyment of the many attractions of Rapallo and the Ligurian coast.

Wonderful hotel in a perfect location with great staff.

Staff was awesome! Food was excellent! Location was amazing! The only drawback is the rooms need updating to match. Room was certainly clean but bathroom was small and room a bit tight. We only had one night to spend and all three couples enjoyed the too short amount of time immensely. Staff was so friendly and totally on it. Perfect location in Santa Margherita Ligure. The roof top pool has a lovely view. Staff extremely helpful. Loved hearing church bells in the morning.

My husband and I recently stayed seven nights at the Royal Hotel San Remo. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel has "old world" charm and true five star service. We found the staff to be exceptionally helpful and professional. They certainly went the extra mile to make our stay memorable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel 5 Terre. The location is great, as it is only a couple of blocks from the beach and restaurants. It was an easy 5 minute walk from the train station and finding it after getting there was simple. I really enjoyed the stay at Hotel Miramare! Excellent and helpful staff. Very pretty and spacious lobby areas. Because we were three people they moved us for no extra charge to a huge apartment on the fourth floor that could easily sleep five!
