Hotels in Old Town Lucerne

Great stay at Hotel des Balances. Had a lovely balcony room facing the water. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Located in the middle of everything. Highly recommend, pic on the hotel’s balcony.

Super location and great hotel. Very nice rooms spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to everything. Staff was helpful in recommending things to do and where to go.

WOW I mean the views from this place cannot be beat. You absolutely MUST request a river facing room (you can see the beautiful snow capped mountains of Pilatus on a clear day). It is worth every penny. Additionally, your stay gets your a visitors pass with discounted rates on transport throughout the city. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind as well. We will DEFINITELY be coming back!

It seems that a one point in this building's history, this was once the Schiff Hotel. In fact the lettering on the outside of the building still reflects that. This building is an old structure renovated to modern standards but has its quirks. There is an elevator but it apparently was retrofitted into a space that was not designed for it. So it is very small but nonetheless functional. About two people at a time can fit. We stayed on the 4th floor, which was great. It has a very large window...

The location could not have been better to explore the Old Town!

It was in a great location by the lake, very accessible to the train station as well as shopping and food. Very clean and nice staff. Had everything we needed for a nice stay in Lucerne.

The location is excellent. We walked to the lion monument and to the lake. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping. The room was spacious and because it was on the 5th floor, the views were spectacular.

What a fantastic place to stay. We were only in Lucerne for one night, but it was such a great experience,we wish it could have been a longer stay. Cristian, the night clerk was so friendly and helpful in giving us input on where to eat late on a Sunday night and some of the local favorites to try. We ordered some plum brandy and loved it. The room was spotlessly clean, with a fantastic view from the balcony. The breakfast in the morning was a wide range of options with everything fresh and...

Loved our stay here (4 bed room with private bath inside). Would stay again. Clean room. Comfy and quiet bunk beds. Unique vibe/decor. There is no AC in the room so it can get a little warm in the summer. Opening the window and using the fan helps a bit. Good WiFi. Conveniently located in the old part of town. Very helpful staff. They have a luggage room which was handy for us after we checked out and still had a few more hours in the city.

The check in process is easy unless a glitch happens (glitch happened to our friends who we are traveling with). The stairs (3-4 steps) going up to where the elevator is and few more stairs going up to the room makes it difficult if you have big, heavy luggages. The room space is great! The kitchenette is great! We were able to cook dinner some nights to save money from the expensive restaurants in Lucerne. The only thing I don’t like is having only 2 pillows(1 each twin bed) and the pillow is...

It’s our first time to travel in Europe and this is officially our first hotel and we loved it, so close to everything that we want to do in Lucerne, staff are very helpful and accommodating. We would love to comeback here someday 😊

Ok place to stay as passing through. Nothing to complain about and nothing bad to say. No A/C but didn't need it.

Location is fantastic! This is right in Lucerne old town. Everything is walkable from here. Since it’s right in the city, night time walks with gelato is easy. Property is fair, not fancy or upgraded recently but fair enough. Shower area is tiny so anyone about 5,11” and above can’t shower here. Overall a good stay.

Small room but it had everything you need for 2 people and the location was amazing for the price. Would go back again for sure!

Beautiful property. Wonderful service and food.

Excellent overall stay. Very relaxing environment

Amazing

The staff at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast are very friendly and provided an excellent service. Room was clean and the view is amazing.

Had a nice stay, great location and the staff was very nice and accommodating! Will come back next time for ski season!

The room was really spacious and had an awesome lake view. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They give you a free bus pass to use during your stay. You get on right out front and it takes you to the city center or train station in about 15 minutes. Very easy and convenient. After a day of sightseeing it was nice to come back to our room, make some hot tea, and slip into a cozy robe and slippers. I also thought the price of the room was very reasonable considering how expensive...
