We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 6 people. The apartment was very tired. The curtains were stained. The flooring dirty and damaged in places. The air conditioning did not work. This was reported but never fixed during our stay. The apartment was advertised as having free toiletries. There was only a dispenser in the shower which was broken. Our check-in was delayed by over an hour due to a cleaning incident. The apartment location is perfect. Right in the heart of Madrid, very close to Puerto del Sol. Shops, restaurants and bars all close by. Check-in and luggage store is away from the property but not a massive issue. Was good to be able to leave luggage before late departure. All keys are digital so ensure all party members upload the app prior to arrival. There is a lift which visits floors 1,2 and 5. It is very small. This is definitely a budget stay apartment in an old building so please consider this when booking.

Great service by the Zinc team. The care given was appreciated. The apartment was very clean- only reason I gave 4 stars was an ancillary item wasn't clean which could easily be missed. (Spare blanket) I would recommend staying with Zinc.

Great location, the apartment is in the middle of the main tourist area but you could not hear any noise when the window was closed. My only complaint is that both bed mattresses are old and sink in too far when sleeping causing back and hip pain for both my husband and I and we are only young, they really need to be replaced.

Claustrophobics beware

Beware, the tiniest of windows! If you suffer from claustrophobia, do not book this suite There are two very small windows, quite high from which you can barely see below. Otherwise, nice big bedrooms with two bathrooms and small lounge with a much too big tv for the distance from the pull out couch. Overall, everything needed is there but all every awkwardly configured

We liked that the location was very close to the main center and that it felt like a relatively secure place to live in however the location was very hard to find at first. Additionally the sheets on the pull out couch was yellowish and looked like it had never been cleaned. Also, while there was air conditioning in the apartment, it was located where the primary bed was making that room very cold while the pull out couch/kitchen area did not get any of the AC. Finally, with the pull out couch there was barely any space to walk unless you jumped up on the couch or folded it back up Overall, not sure we would come back here again but it was an okay experience if your main goal is to be close to everything!

Suites You'll Zinc You Got Scammed

Where to start... The unit is not representative of the pictures seen on the ad. It is pretty basic to say the least. Queen bed 1 pillow each, fitted sheet that doesn't fit. No surface or place to put anything down. Weird sewer smell but that's prob the city. Hot water optional. Rodents welcome but in dark staircase only, thank god. Oh by the way they say no elevator but you realize there is one after schlepping your luggage up 5 flight up. (Travel tip: take the elevator to 5. Walk down.) Be prepared also to have plenty of time on hand to sort out the various mishaps that will happen with their app to get in and out of the place. And when you do manage to open the door, be very cautious of mangling your hand. Location is choice. You'll love it. Godspeed. PS: about the bed bugs, you didn't hear it from me.

Disappointing stay

The internet did not work at all in the back half of the apartment (where there was a desk for working). In the living room area, it was was very poor and lots of Zoom calls were dropped. The check in experience was horrible. They have no staff in the building but rather in another building 2 blocks away. You have to use your phone to open building and unit doors, and they insist they cannot give you a key or card. The kitchen lacked some basic things: cutting board, knife to cut vegetables/meat/bowls for cereal. An alarm went off twice, once at 1am in the morning. It was dysfunctional and I notified them both times. That I had to be woken up at 1am and then notify them a second time speaks to the poor service. When you write to them, a chat bot answers you. It doesn't identify itself as a chat bot, so this conversation be a real waste of time. I would rather wait for their working hours than have a chat with a bot. The hotel is located half a block from the Plaza del Sol. It has 2 metro lines and a train line (cercanías). It was very convenient. However, the street (Arenal) was so incredibly busy, you couldn't walk around. I have never seen such a busy street in my life, and I personally found it very unpleasant.
