Had a blast this weekend in Blackpool. The locals are so friendly and helpful. Had fabulous dinners at Papa's fish and chip shop and a lovely Italian Caesar's. The illuminations did not disappoint, out of this world. Had lots of fun in the arcades!

Lots and lots of walking along the Irish seaside. 3 different piers. Many, many small food shops to pop in for tea or coffee. One of the best gish & vhips I had in a very long time. We really enjoyed our time at the top of the Blackpool Tower

Made use of the tickets to combine attractions. Saved lots of money by booking together instead of seperate. We did Tussauds, the Tower Circus and The Dungeons. If you are debating which to do I would definitely recommend the Dungeons.

Visit Blackpool yearly and do different things each year. I like time on the beach weather permitting. Pirates bay bar on central pier is a great venue and atmosphere for families. Lots of family bars about with great entertainment.

We've been visiting the illuminations for many years now, still finding something new to do each time. We did the walk between Cabin and Bispham to take in the large installations and give them time to watch, so much nicer close-up!

Do yourself a favour, stay at one of the bigger hotels on north shore and get a tram pass... they come every 15 mins and only take 15 mins from north to south... will make your trip much less stressful.

We love Blackpool and have been visiting for many years. Great to see some regeneration and improvements to the piers and some nice hotels popping up again. We never fail to have a good time.

Not everyone's cup of tea but we love Blackpool. The Pleasure Beach is always great fun. The trams are great value if you buy a day ticket. Fleetwood Market is always good for a bargain.

Lovely historic holiday destination, lots of Victorian buildings enjoying faded glory, friendly people. Obvious lack of investment to a characterful seaside town.
"A warm welcome by the staff and always with a smile, this hotel catered for all our needs including asking for extra pillows, lovely lounge area to relax in , lift goes down to the tram station which is a bonus. very good choice of meals with a good bar area. Twin room was very comfortable and quiet ended up staying an extra night . "
"Not our first stay at The Big Blue and won’t be our last.
We had 2 double rooms and both were upgraded to deluxe at check in.
The staff work really hard and are very friendly.
Breakfast is amazing! "
"A Wonderful Stay at the Royal Alexandra Hotel, Blackpool
From the moment I arrived at the Royal Alexandra Hotel, I was greeted with warm hospitality and genuine professionalism. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff couldn't have been more attentive or welcoming.
The room itself was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed — with a comfortable bed, fresh linens, and all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. Despite being in the heart of Blackpool, the atmosphere was peaceful, allowing for a great night’s sleep.
What really sets this hotel apart is its outstanding service. Every staff member I encountered went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. Whether it was advice on local attractions or dietary requests at mealtimes, nothing was ever too much trouble.
The breakfasts were hearty and satisfying, served in a bright and cheerful dining area. It made for the perfect start to each day before exploring nearby landmarks like the Winter Gardens, the Tower, and the beachfront — all just a short walk away.
The Royal Alexandra Hotel is a gem — a well-run, friendly hotel that delivers excellent value and a genuinely enjoyable experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Blackpool."
