Top neighborhoods in Lausanne

Le Flon
Le Flon delivers urban excitement as Lausanne's premier nightlife district, where converted warehouses house sleek bars, clubs, and a multiplex cinema. Design boutiques occupy glass-fronted spaces while restaurant terraces spill onto pedestrian plazas dotted with modern sculptures. The neighborhood's striking red-brick buildings with sleek glass additions create a sophisticated urban playground for evening entertainment. Metro M2 connects directly to Lausanne center in just 3 minutes, making exploration effortless. The pedestrian-only core eliminates parking worries, though underground garages are available nearby. Upscale restaurants serve everything from Asian fusion to Swiss contemporary cuisine, while boutique hotels offer minimalist designs and proximity to the action.

Ouchy
Ouchy is Lausanne's scenic lakeside playground where the Alps meet Lake Geneva's sparkling waters. The Olympic Museum stands proudly along tree-lined promenades that wind past elegant Belle Époque hotels. Visitors can hop on CGN ferries to French shores or simply soak up mountain views from pristine beaches where azure waters invite summer swimming. Upscale restaurants serve fresh perch with Alpine views while casual cafés offer Swiss specialties on lakefront terraces. The M2 metro whisks you to Lausanne's center in just 10 minutes. Luxury hotels dominate the accommodation scene, making Ouchy perfect for travelers seeking refined relaxation with panoramic mountain backdrops.

Lausanne Center
Lausanne Center's medieval charm unfolds across cobblestone streets and historic treasures. The Gothic Lausanne Cathedral stands majestically above the city, while the pedestrian-friendly Place de la Palud buzzes with local energy. Art lovers can dive into unique collections at the Palais de Rumine or discover outsider masterpieces at Collection de l'Art Brut. Swiss-French bistros and cozy cafés dot the pedestrian zones, offering everything from traditional fondue to international cuisine. Getting around is a breeze with the M2 metro line, though the neighborhood's steep terrain might challenge some walkers. Boutique hotels in converted medieval buildings provide the perfect base for exploring this lakeside gem.

Montriond-Cour
Montriond-Cour brings together the peaceful side of Lausanne with its cultural treats. Explore the lush Parc de Milan with tree-lined paths or wander through the University's Botanical Gardens with their exotic plant collections. The Museum of Zoology offers a fascinating peek at natural history in a classical setting that's perfect for curious minds. Getting around is simple with regular buses connecting to the city center in just 15 minutes. Local bistros serve traditional Swiss dishes without the tourist markup, while small shops cater to everyday needs. This authentic neighborhood offers a genuine Swiss experience away from the usual tourist crowds.

Montoie-Bourdonnette
Montoie-Bourdonnette offers a genuine peek into everyday Swiss suburban life away from Lausanne's tourist hustle. Catch the M1 metro to explore the International Olympic Committee headquarters or stroll through the peaceful Parc Bourget with its lakeside views. The Espace des Inventions makes for a fun, family-friendly science stop that curious minds will enjoy. Budget-conscious travelers appreciate the neighborhood's affordable dining and accommodation options compared to central Lausanne. Getting around is hassle-free with the efficient M1 metro connecting you to downtown in just 15-20 minutes. The quiet, residential vibe provides a restful home base for city adventures.

Moxy Lausanne City
"Location was perfect for what we needed, didn't realise we would be in such a night life part of town. There was no noise in room and the electronic outside shutter worked well. Air con was lacking, not any shelf space so lived out of suitcase. Shower was powerful, note breakfast is not refilled after 9.30am but open untill 10.30 not mentioned at check in... did have food the first day but the variety was better if you came at 9.30am great shopping mall close by but no service on a Sunday"
Hôtel des Patients
"We only stayed 1 night before our tour…sufficient for our needs. Nice fans were provided since hotel did not have air conditioning."
Lausanne Palace
"Super !"
Hotel Elite
"El ascensor hace un ruido raro. La habitación tiene buen tamaño y tiene ventilador, aunque dejamos las ventanas abiertas por el calor. El desayuno está aceptable."

"Great hotel, the staff helped me to navigate the city with the free public transport in Lausanne I am looking forward for my next visit for the Judo Grand Slam"
Hotel Victoria
"The hotel was in an excellent location to explore the old town of Lesa as well as catch the train down to the lakefront, and the train fares covered in a city pass that you get for being a hotel guest. Great city to explore."
Château d'Ouchy
"We were given a room with a tiny balcony overlooking the lake. That made our stay extremely pleasant. The location of this hotel is excellent with lots of eateries close by."
Hotel Angleterre
"Great stay"
