Discover a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site with a well-preserved medieval core, featuring Switzerland's tallest minster, Renaissance fountains, and historic bridges. Experience modernity seamlessly integrated into this medieval gem.

Breitenrain-Lorraine
Just minutes from Bern's Old Town, Breitenrain-Lorraine offers a glimpse into authentic Swiss life. The tree-lined streets lead to Wylerfeld park's open meadows and the stunning Rosengarten with panoramic city views. Sports fans can catch events at Wankdorf Stadium while nature lovers explore the peaceful Botanical Garden. Cozy neighborhood bistros serve traditional Swiss rösti without the tourist markup. The area's excellent tram system whisks you to central attractions in minutes, with lines running every 6-10 minutes. Clean sidewalks and bike lanes make exploring this quiet residential haven a delight for travelers seeking Bern's local rhythm.

Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde
Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde offers a cultural feast where stately museums showcase Swiss treasures in grand 19th-century buildings. Art lovers will find paradise at the Kunstmuseum and Paul Klee Museum, while families can meet Barry the St. Bernard at the Natural History Museum. The leafy zoo and botanical gardens provide peaceful retreats along the Aare River. Refined Swiss cuisine dominates the upscale dining scene, with most restaurants closing early in this quiet district. Tram lines 3 and 5 connect visitors to Bern's main station and charming Old Town in minutes. The neighborhood's elegant guesthouses and boutique hotels occupy converted historic buildings, perfect for travelers seeking an authentic Swiss experience away from tourist crowds.

Langgasse-Felsenau offers a perfect mix of academic energy and riverside calm in Bern. Stroll through the University of Bern campus where historic buildings house bright minds and fresh ideas. The beautiful Aare River curves along the district's edge, creating peaceful walking paths where you can unwind after visiting the nearby Botanical Garden or Bern Art Museum. Student-friendly cafes and cozy neighborhood bistros dot the streets with affordable Swiss-German fare and international options. You'll find modest guesthouses and residential B&Bs instead of luxury hotels, giving you an authentic slice of Swiss life. Learn more about Bern
Arcaded walkways stretch for miles through the UNESCO-listed Old Town, where 16th-century fountains punctuate cobblestone streets with whimsical sculptures. The Zytglogge clock tower performs its mechanical dance on the hour, drawing crowds who've just finished espresso at sidewalk cafés. Einstein developed his theory of relativity while living here - visit his apartment to see where genius bloomed. The Münster cathedral tower rewards climbers with panoramic views of red rooftops and the turquoise Aare River below. On summer days, join locals who float downstream in the current, clutching waterproof bags containing perfectly dry clothes and picnic supplies.

Los Lorentes Residences
"Very easy to reach with bus 101 or 107 from Bern with a supermarket just next door. Lovely room, helpful staff and excellent value for money. Don’t really understand the negative reviews as we loved it!"
Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa
"This is just an amazing hotel in the perfect location--right at the entrance to the old city and directly adjacent to the train station. Our room was clean and well appointed, and I can't say enough about the staff, especially the desk clerk who helped us figure out the Aare swimming logistics, She even provided us with a hotel branded dry bag for floating down the river. My only comment is that the AC was not that strong, but the staff did provide us with a supplemental AC unit which cooled the room down considerably. HIGHLY recommend !"
Hotel Bären Am Bundesplatz
"Très bien situé. Une excellente boutique hôtel et backpackers friendly"

"Very good"
Hotel Savoy Bern
"Friendly and helpful staff; clean well-appointed rooms. We arrived early and were given a choice of taking a warmer street facing-room immediately or waiting for a cooler courtyard-facing room. We took the street-facing. It was fine, although the air con wasn’t the strongest. Appreciated being given the choice."
Hotel National Bern
"A place with character"
ibis budget Bern Expo
"Comfortable stay, great service and a perfect location."
Kreuz Bern Modern City Hotel
"Exceptional across the board with one small caveat. Excellent location, spotlessly clean, reasonably priced, safe neighborhood, and very helpful staff. My room was small but exactly what I needed: a comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, plenty of hot water, and adequate air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and included in the price. I also loved the rooftop seating area for sunsets and people-watching. Other nice touches: washer/dryer (7 CHF), restaurant next door, small fitness room, 24-hour self-service coffee, elevators, and in-room safes. My only complaint was check-in. I arrived around 1:20 p.m. after roughly 16 hours of travel and was firmly told I could not have my room until the 3:00 p.m. check-in time. I waited in the lobby for about an hour before asking a different front desk employee, who immediately said, “Of course, your room is ready,” and checked me in. I completely understand guaranteeing rooms by 3:00 p.m., but if a room is already cleaned and available, allowing an exhausted traveler to check in early is simply good hospitality. That first interaction left me wondering what kind of experience I was in for. Thankfully, that concern disappeared quickly. Every staff member I dealt with afterward was outstanding, and the rest of my stay was excellent. I would happily stay here again."
Novotel Bern Expo
"Hotel was lovely, great location, nicely decorated, helpful staff, delicious breakfast, very nice shampoo/soap (Rituals). The only thing to improve is having a sink in the bathroom and adjustable temperature in the room. We put the temperature on the lowest setting (20C) and we found it incredibly warm and would cutoff in the middle of the night making it even warmer. We were visiting Bern for a few days so it was manageable."
