The add on to the house is mainly for the B&B. One of the owners was a builder by trade and he evidently built many of the special features in the house as well as some furniture. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Our suite has a little fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and hot water dispenser. There was a fresh bowl of fruits every day, and the brekkies are delicious. Owners have lots of knowledge about local life. While it is a bit of distance to the Red Mountain...
The Hotel is right downtown Nelson close to shopping and restaurants. We had a small room but had everything we needed. The folks running the desk I believe were the owners and couldn't have been more helpful with trip planning for the area and beyond.
Best place to stay on the mountain. The hosts were friendly and truly cared about us having a good time. I don’t think I would stay anywhere else on the mountain next time I come up.
Our random, spur-of the moment choice turned into a delightful visit thanks to the marvelous setting of Blaylock Mansion and the warm, friendly welcome of Louise and Dan, our hosts. Blaylock beckons guests into the history of Nelson, something we knew little about. We arrived after dark, and were uncertain where we were, having driven from Seattle. In the morning, we woke to glorious foliage in the gardens, a scrumptious breakfast, and a lively chat around the table. Although Louise and Dan...
This was our first trip to Nelson, and this hotel was a perfect landing spot to be able to enjoy the area properly! There’s a mountain shuttle pickup directly in front of the hotel, and restaurants, bars, and shopping are all within easy walking distance. The staff was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area; always available to answer our questions. I’d definitely stay here again!
Luxurious! What a pleasant surprise to check-in and find such a wonderful high end boutique hotel in small Nelson. We loved the room, the restaurant and live music (quiet jazz guitarist), and the facility. The owner has sunk a lot of money into this hotel! We got a great nights sleep, very good bed, quiet room, good air conditioning, wonderful shower and linens. The private hotel parking lot is directly across the street and our motorcycle was visible from our room. Definitely will return on our...
The room was clean. The glass door into the bathroom looked cool but without a shade in the bathroom window it was hard to sleep as the light shined into the sleep space at all hours. The front desk was very nice and extremely helpful with recommendations for food and places to explore. The dry ribs at the pub were amazing.
A little comfy suite, not elegant, but clean and friendly. The view of lake can be seen from a patio. Fire pit, barbecues allow you to cook your own food. Close to beaches and parks.
