Great experience with a nice staff. Close to the train. Great hiking.

Stayed 4days/3 nights.Took some getting used to. 1st flr reception&restaurant are modern, but the rest was more medical than 'spa'. Not what we were expecting, so took time to appreciate. Rooms-simple, spacious,comfortable&very clean. Furniture in great shape. Bathroom had window to room reducing privacy. BUT you see balcony view, so appreciated the decision. We paid extra for valleyview & it didn't disappoint! Altho a little loud at times w/tractors,cows&cars, but it was gorgeous &every sunset...

This is a bed and breakfast a short distance by tram 14 from the heart of Basel. The owners were very welcoming and outgoing. The room I had, the Green Room, was clean and comfortable. The owners had accommodated me in a very bad situation ( passport without three month until expiration for travel forcing me to do all sorts of things to correct this) and I appreciated it. Located near center of Sissach, hotel is near pedestrian walking shopping area. Room is a bit small but quiet. Staff very friendly and attentive and helpful. Beds are bit firm. Great experience and value for money.

This was a stressful trip for our family. The team at the Engel Hotel made it less stressful. They helped make phone calls where needed, let us store our luggage for a few hours, provided free water bottles, and were warm and friendly all throughout the stay. As a customer, you will also get a free public transportation pass for the duration of your stay. It was very helpful. LOVED IT ONCE I FOUND IT. MYUNCLE LIVES IN THE AREA AND WAS SURPRISED I FOUND IT. HE LOVED IT. MEALS COULD HAVE MORE CHOICES THAN FRIES WITH VEAL . THANK YOU FOR A LOVELY STAY , WE WERE GLAD WE CAME.

I regret that I did not have a chance to try out the restaurant, and the in-room capsule coffeemaker was not a success, but the internet connection was good, the room was quiet, and the hotel itself was in an excellent location, especially for St. Jakob Stadium. Check-in and check out were very quick, and I paid extra for a balcony, which was well worth the money. It was a great place to relax and have some coffee, and the nice accordion glass doors and windows sealed out the noise at night....
