Located in 2-3 minutes walking distance from the station. Also close to the old city. In general a very nice hotel with friendly staff. Highly recommend to those who are looking for a hotel in Basel.

The most efficient use of space ever in a hotel room. U.S. hotels should learn from these guys. Best bathtub...narrow and deep, perfect for soaking after a hard day of travel. Stayed 4days/3 nights.Took some getting used to. 1st flr reception&restaurant are modern, but the rest was more medical than 'spa'. Not what we were expecting, so took time to appreciate. Rooms-simple, spacious,comfortable&very clean. Furniture in great shape. Bathroom had window to room reducing privacy. BUT you see balcony view, so appreciated the decision. This is a bed and breakfast a short distance by tram 14 from the heart of Basel. The owners were very welcoming and outgoing. The room I had, the Green Room, was clean and comfortable. The owners had accommodated me in a very bad situation ( passport without three month until expiration for travel forcing me to do all sorts of things to correct this) and I appreciated it. This was a stressful trip for our family. The team at the Engel Hotel made it less stressful. They helped make phone calls where needed, let us store our luggage for a few hours, provided free water bottles, and were warm and friendly all throughout the stay. Located near center of Sissach, hotel is near pedestrian walking shopping area. Room is a bit small but quiet. Staff very friendly and attentive and helpful. Beds are bit firm. Great experience and value for money.

Clean room, friendly staff, dog friendly is a huge plus! Plentiful breakfast.
