This is a bed and breakfast a short distance by tram 14 from the heart of Basel. The owners were very welcoming and outgoing. The room I had, the Green Room, was clean and comfortable. The owners had accommodated me in a very bad situation ( passport without three month until expiration for travel forcing me to do all sorts of things to correct this) and I appreciated it. Quick and easy check-in. Reception staff very friendly/pleasant especially when we needed help with trains. Nice variety and selections for breakfast. Room was always made up, cleaned daily. Love the location. Very close 1 minute walk to SBB train station and city trams/buses right outside the front door.

Everything was excellent! Especially the staff. Carla at the front desk was kind and thoughtful. Our room was very modern and clean. The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. Highly recommend!

Only issue with the Berti was the lack of parking. Found on street parking but never secure with it. Bar and breakfast excellent. Mulhouse National Auto museum is wonderful. Charming city worth the visit to the Alsace.

I regret that I did not have a chance to try out the restaurant, and the in-room capsule coffeemaker was not a success, but the internet connection was good, the room was quiet, and the hotel itself was in an excellent location, especially for St. Jakob Stadium. Check-in and check out were very quick, and I paid extra for a balcony, which was well worth the money. It was a great place to relax and have some coffee, and the nice accordion glass doors and windows sealed out the noise at night....

Stayed 4days/3 nights.Took some getting used to. 1st flr reception&restaurant are modern, but the rest was more medical than 'spa'. Not what we were expecting, so took time to appreciate. Rooms-simple, spacious,comfortable&very clean. Furniture in great shape. Bathroom had window to room reducing privacy. BUT you see balcony view, so appreciated the decision. We paid extra for valleyview & it didn't disappoint! Altho a little loud at times w/tractors,cows&cars, but it was gorgeous &every sunset...

This was a stressful trip for our family. The team at the Engel Hotel made it less stressful. They helped make phone calls where needed, let us store our luggage for a few hours, provided free water bottles, and were warm and friendly all throughout the stay. As a customer, you will also get a free public transportation pass for the duration of your stay. It was very helpful. Located near center of Sissach, hotel is near pedestrian walking shopping area. Room is a bit small but quiet. Staff very friendly and attentive and helpful. Beds are bit firm. Great experience and value for money.
