pool, the lobby, the balcony from our room! I found the room big with a hot shower, safe and 2 large beds, large TV. My husband would say the room needed a slight redo in paint, and a bit of cleaning (front door had hand prints, AC vent had chipped paint) etc and I can say I don't disagree. All in all the room was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly even to us NY'ers struggling to speak Portuguse. The pool

"The linnens were clean, the tv screen was dirty, the shower/bathroom was dirty, moldy, I dont think the bathroom fan works so it was definately smelly and moldy looking, I can see the staff did everything to keep the room clean this was just out of the cleaning seevice control, the staff was awesome very happy to tip above and beyond for their service. "Bugan is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Recife. It’s very new, clean, and modern. Most of the other hotels along Boa Viagem beach are 25+ years old and starting to look rundown. The room we booked at Bugan was huge, comfortable, well decorated, and it was a great price. The breakfast included was very high quality too, not your typical cheap hotel breakfast. They had a French chef making custom omelettes. I was impressed."

"Based upon visits to other Brazilian cities, I was much more impressed with the overall condition of the city - neatness, paved streets, walkability. This seemed to carry over to the hotel as it was very well maintained. The staff was friendly and showed pride in their employment. The room was very clean and comfortable. Shower had hot water. A working mini-fridge was nice! Mini-bar products were very reasonably priced. "

"The Hotel seems to have a large number of rooms which is not compatible for the only 3 (yes, three) slow elevators. It should be noted that 1 elevator appeared to be broken, so only 2 functioning). When I was there, the Hotel seemed to be fully-booked, which made me take the stairs up and down from the 5th floor as the elevator line was huge to be waited.
