Walked from Suiun to The Hakone Open-Air Museum easily with the best Lawsons along the way. "I had an amazing stay at Marroad. On the outside, it looks a bit outdated, but the interiors are well maintained. I absolutely loved my room — it had been renovated, everything looked new, and it was both spacious and cozy. The staff were very kind and attentive. Another nice thing to mention is that they offer a free shuttle service from Gora Station to the hotel; you just have to call upon arrival."

"The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the family suite allowed us to stay together. However, the staff was not flexible about our advance request to exclude pork and pork derived ingredients from breakfast and dinner because we did not reply to their follow up email that we never received. Our original request was clear but no alternative was offered upon arrival. The spa massages were underwhelming, and the private onsen could accommodate only two people despite the suite being designed for approximately four guests. Given the cost of over $1,000 for one night, excluding the spa, we questioned the value."
