"Good hotel near Gora - you can take shuttle or walk 15” up some steep sets of stairs if you are up for some exercise; most common areas look newly updated in last several years; nice private Onsrn on room balcony was used a lot!"
"We had an amazing stay. Staff is super friendly, the room was incredible confortable, clean, with all the necessary amenities and we very much enjoyed the private onsen at the room. They offer free shuttle services to Gora Station. "
"Amazing experience- the room was great, the staff was incredibly attentive and kind. The food was beyond delicious, wish I stayed more!!

"A fantastic stay overall at Gora Kadan. Our room was impeccable with a lovely balcony that featured a small Japanese garden. The room assistant was attentive and helpful. The kaiseki meals were presented in lovely dishes with sophisticated design, were tasty and quite elaborate, each meal was truly a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Each meal was a true feast for the senses and the taste buds. The onsen was just the perfect size. We are already planning our next trip to Gora Kadan with more...
"The staff was very accommodating ! Check in was smooth the staff spoke a bit of English to help us through our stay. Dinner was phenomenal, breakfast the next morning was great as well. The Onsen Experience was great with the privacy and very relaxing."
"The staff of Gora Kansuiro is a highlight of this ryokan. Everyone showed above and beyond hospitality, from the moment we even stepped into the parking lot! The location, tucked in the green woods with gardens and walking paths surrounding it, is perfect - just a short walk from Gora station (also note: the switchback train up the mountain to Gora station is a wonderful unique experience all on its own). We loved the expansive Sakura room up some stairs, with its beautiful sun porch looking out...
"Wish we could have stayed for another night.
Staff was incredible, property is fantastic with excellent central location near Gora station.
Walked from Suiun to The Hakone Open-Air Museum easily with the best Lawsons along the way.
We did not make it to Hakone Gora Park but it was right next door, down the street was a Hakone Tozan Railway stop.
Enjoyed a snack and drinks at Gora Brewery and Grill which was right by Suiun as well.
The private room onsen was amazing, loved the option for...
"I had an amazing stay at Marroad. On the outside, it looks a bit outdated, but the interiors are well maintained. I absolutely loved my room — it had been renovated, everything looked new, and it was both spacious and cozy.
The staff were very kind and attentive.
Another nice thing to mention is that they offer a free shuttle service from Gora Station to the hotel; you just have to call upon arrival."
"Nice and traditional ryokan with onsen facilities in beutiful Gora. Short walking distance from the Gora cable car. Very nice and interesting Japanese dinner and breakfast included. Great experience to eat wearing our yukatas, available in our room. "

Loved loved loved! Wished I had booked this for the entire trip and probably will book again if I return. The home was thoughtfully curated and exactly as pictured. Very scenic drive and quiet neighborhood. Instructions were straightforward with check-in/route/guidelines and host was very responsive. Note: if you are using public transport and have more than a back pack, I suggest catching a ride from the drop off point to the home.
Amazing dinner in the hotel restaurant. The Wagyu beef was melt in your mouth fantastic. Great wine. The private onsen was perfect and so relaxing at the end of the night. Super comfortable bed and spacious room. Wish I had booked two nights. My only complaint is the coffee in the room is more espresso style and I love a big hearty cup of coffee in the morning. The hotel doesn’t offer coffee in the lobby which is a bummer. We didn’t add breakfast just because we don’t usually do breakfast....
It's super close to the line to Hakone Ropeway! Also a great place. We went on a weekend and it wasn't really that packed at all. The onsens were super clean, safe, and relaxing. Not much chit-chatting like the ones in the US which I LOVED. It was perfect. We got a room with a private onsen and it was cute - it was just like a wooden box hahaha but it was a vibe and really nice. We also got the food included and that was great - real Japanese style and delicious. All of the people that worked...
Beautiful place that accompanied my family of 4. Had a wonderful time. Close to transportation. Place was clean and supplied everything we needed for 6 days. Thank you for hosting.
We liked that it had an indoor and outdoor onsen. We didn’t make dinner reservations before arriving but they accommodated us by giving us a simplified dinner menu that did not require prep. Thank you!
Very nice, clean hotel in the charming Gora neighborhood and although it is right next to the train station you will never hear the crowds or the train. The staff is very friendly and speak excellent English. Our private room for 4 with private bath was roomy for our family of 2 adults and 2 teens. The breakfast for 800 yen is quite good and the onsen is clean and therapeutic!
The 3-minute walk was uphill from Gora station, thankfully along a paced path by the cable-car tracks. If I didn’t have google maps, it might have been bit hard to find the place. Gora is beautiful, had pizza at nearby pub, excellent. The Gira Base B had its own terrace ( tight, narrow steps) but was cool. The room had large beds, all 4 of us slept in our own beds. The kitchen was well stocked with everything one wants, too bad we couldn’t use it due to just 1 night stay. The laundry machine was...
Amazing modern ryokan with private open air onsen on balcony! Spectacular views of the mountains all the way to the ocean! Great service from friendly and accommodating staff serving in room meals! Large public bath in basement with sauna and free massage chairs!
