The Lugano Dante hotel is a great hotel, the location can't be beaten, steps from the funicular and right by the city center, we walked everywhere. This hotel is very generous in terms of taking of customers, free drinks in room mini bar, coffee, espresso, apples, waters in the lobby, make one feel so much like home. Lovely hotel in spectacular location on lake Lugano. Art center, historic sites, restaurants, and shopping within easy walking distance. Hotel breakfast, pool, and common areas were exceptional and staff were super helpful and friendly.
Short stroll down the ramp from the main buses and trains. Host brought us to door just down the block and showed us to our little apartment. Kitchen was fully equipped; even a dishwasher. Beautiful corner room with nice view down the alleys. Around the bend from our doorway was a cement patio with flowers to relax. The breakfast was great.
We arrived at the hotel at a relatively early hour, checked in and left our luggage in the hotel.
After a day of sightseeing in the area we returned to the hotel.
The receptionist took us to the room and only after they entered the room did she say,
"We gave you an upgrade."
