Great property, beautiful location. I would say that they would need to allow some form of partnership with a taxi company or private service for those who want to be out past 10pm when the shuttle stops. I love that the staff will book excursions for you and allow you to make the most of your experience. I do think there is room for an all inclusive for the guests. We made our plans at the last minute and found the West Bay Lodge through Expedia. We booked two rooms, one for us and one for the kids. We received an email shortly after booking asking about our plans, any special requests, etc. I thought that was nice. Since we were staying over the course of a week the hotel had a driver meet us at the airport and drive us to the lodge. The Reef House is in a quiet part of the island. We went for relaxation and diving. The first night we snorkeled at night in the ocean pool and saw octapus, shrimp, flounder, small eels, and huge urchins. My older son wanted to fish, so they arranged a day of fishing and visiting a shallow area where nurse sharks and rays hang out, so we got to snorkel with them. The hotel is very nice, right in front of the beach. It has a lot of treas and is quiet. Very convenient location, the kayaks are free to use for guest. I did have an incident were I was charged $8 more than it was supposed to, I told the manager, and she reimbursed me that money. Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and do recommended to other travelers.

It's a pricey hotel, but my wife and I found it worth the money. First of all it seemed like the most modern and secure hotel in the whole city. It's located right on the waterfront, with a giant pool and a bar outside. The rooms are clean and very spacious, very modern, so the ones who have allergies shouldn't be worried. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay at Puerta Azul in July 2022. Talia and her staff were always helpful and friendly. Puerta Azul was an ideal place to relax and unwind, as it was located in Sandy Bay away from the busy resorts and cruise ship traffic. My husband booked this resort for me I enjoyed my stay. Very relaxing my room was clean and it had everything I needed and more. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the beach and food at the bar. Beautiful ocean view and spectacular sunset. I will definitely be returning with my husband.

This was our second stay. Both times were wonderful. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We tried several things on the menu at the restaurant during our two week stay and found that everything is prepared with fresh ingredients and looks as good as it tastes. This hotel is everything! Our room was as beach front as you can get and we loved mornings and evenings on the patio. I can’t say enough good things about the staff. Every single person, including the owners of the property, were so welcoming and friendly…even the 24-hour security guards (we never felt unsafe the entire time on the island but it was just a little peace of mind). This was my first time here but won't be my last! Beautiful room without the noise of a big hotel..I loved my beautiful private balcony and the staff are wonderful! I even ran into the bartender off duty and she came up to me.. Super pleasant and let me know if my group wanted to join them or needed anything.. Now that is great customer service!

Taquela Jack’s bar and restaurant is the best. Probably one of the cleanest on the island.

.I arrived at Upachaya in a state of mental and physical exhaustion. This is a fabulous place to unwind and de-stress. I curled up on the porch for two weeks and spent most afternoons simply reading and/or writing. I enjoyed falling asleep listening to the tree frogs and the men fishing in the bay. This place was fantastic! It had everything you needed so you wouldn’t need to go off property! The owners were very communicative via WHATS app and made check in super quick so we could start enjoying our vacation. The food and drinks were awesome. Definitely will stay here again on our next trip! A huge shout out to all the staff as they were very warm and called us each by our name .. we felt at home.
