Novotel Brussels off Grand'Place
10/10 Excellent
"We would definitely consider staying here if we visit Brussels again.
Pros: The hotel was pretty quiet even though the it was really close to restaurants and Grand Place. We were able to check in early at no extra charge as long as we were Accor members (joined it on the spot). The room was big enough to not feel crowded with three people. The separate toilet made it easier for everyone to get ready in the morning for an early morning train ride to our next destination. The air conditioning was nice to have after walking around on a hot summer day as was the chilled water refill station on our floor. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. Taxis were right outside the lobby door.
Cons: The hair dryer was old, loud, and not hot enough. It took me twice as long to dry and style my hair. The mini fridge didn’t keep our drinks cold even after we set it to the coldest temperature. I would say they were cool, but not cold. The outside of the refrigerator became really hot so we kept the refrigerator cabinet door open so that the fridge wouldn’t have to work overtime to keep things cool. The usb ports near the bed didn’t work, but we had electrical adapters so we were able to charge our phones and external batteries."
"hotel room bath could have been clean
not a 3* standard hotel
bar not open after 11
breakfast wasnt included but no option to upgrade on arrival.
very impersonal
not enough coffee creamer
standard of rooms was more 3 star"
"The room was clean and staff were really friendly and helpful! Stayed for 4 nights and could not make a complaint about any of them. The hotel is close to the centre and right next to the metro. The only issue we had was with the city itself, however that is
no fault of the hotel and it’s staff. I would be wary if travelling solo as a women or with just other women, even though the town was easily accessible and a quick walk, we had many issues with catcalling and harassment from men. This happened every day, multiple times. I would stay wary of this, as we weren’t expecting that, especially when the area around the hotel did not appear to be dodgy or shady."
