The Beresford Hotel
8/10 Good
"The guy who worked at reception was excellent. He was very friendly and helpful.
We arrived late around 8pm. When we booked in there was no parking left to use.
The guy at reception said no problem you can use my parking space around the back, he said there was room for us and guided us around.
He then waited at the back door and let us in to save us walking around to the front of this large hotel.
Excellent service from a great and friendly guy.
The hotel itself is very tired and run down. Our room was clean so we were not that bothered by it.
It was very cheap for the night so bear that in mind you get what you pay for. If you’re easy going like us you wont care.
We enjoyed our stay which was made better by the efforts of the friendly guy at reception."
"Lovely staff
The best sea view I have ever seen!
Quiet and elegant
Lovely breakfast - although additional cost for cooked for breakfast each day. Booking slightly misleading as says ‘free breakfast’ but it is only the buffet selection included which is cheese and pastries fruit etc nice selection if not after cooked breakfast specifically.
Spa facilities top notch and lovely, a little dated in design.
The building looked a little run down and the atmosphere was flat (maybe the season as wasn’t very lively) no music on in the bar or lounge etc just silence.
I would stay again as I felt safe and private and the housekeeping was fantastic and the staff went above and beyond everytime. "
"Large modern room with balcony and seating area overlooking hotel grounds and facilitirs. Nice bar and resturant, buffet style breakfast, frequently refreshed with fresh great tasting food and coffee, quiet and tranquil surroundings. Beautiful."
"I was welcomed from the moment i walked in, they kindly stored my luggage early and on check in whisked my bike away to a secure store.
Breakfast, with the wonderful view across the bay, was excellent and prompt. Will definitely stay again."
"Enjoyed our stay at such an iconic hotel. Will definitely stay again and looking forward to seeing everything fully refurbished. Had great view of estuary from our room. Staff all lovely and helpful. Breakfast was very nice, great choice available with lovely sea views. Lovely bar area, again with great views, nice to sit and chat late into the evening."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Harbour Hotel; reception staff were friendly and informative as were the bar staff. The estuary room we had was nice, with every amenity we needed, including a free gin (would have been even better if the tonic was free). Perfectly located to walk into town and lovely views of the river from the restaurant / bar. Breakfast was good, although there is a £10 charge for cooked options."
