Having spent a week here I grew to appreciate all the little things that added to the comfort of my stay. Family owned and run, the level of service was both personal and top shelf. I have traveled the world and don't stop to spend time reviewing one corporate run hotel over another but here I am happy to spread the good word for this lovely family and boutique hotel. Classic colonial hotel steps to the historic district, we regretted leaving.

It was easy to walk around the city from this location or get a taxi. This was my first visit to Cuenca, and I absolutely loved the city. Hotel Azul de la Plaza was an excellent base to explore the Centro Historico. The room was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and above all, very comfortable. The location really cannot be beat, the price was more than reasonable, and there was parking available in a secure lot. When I come back to Cuenca, I will absolutely stay here again.
