Douglas Guest House
8/10 Good
"This place is fine and likely one of the more cost-effective options near downtown Vancouver. Plus, there was a solid breakfast, better than I expected. I only took a star off because the internet was weak, the check-in hours were tight, and the building was dated."
Vancouver Mandy Laneway Home
10/10 Excellent
"Close easy access to airport, nice little unit."
Hotel at the Waldorf
8/10 Good
"The bed mattress had a sunk spot on one side and the bathroom fan either didn’t work or there was no switch to activate it. The late night noise was expected though, not as loud as I would’ve thought."
Windsor Guest House
10/10 Excellent
"This lodging is very conveniently located maybe half a block to City Hall and very near the transit station. As a single woman traveling alone, I felt very safe, The street is charming, filled with huge old houses. My third floor "George" room was small and modest but had everything I needed, including wifi. (Hosts might consider adding a power strip by the bed for devices.) The shared bathroom" posed no problems. I was barely aware that I had neighbors. The third floor had no air conditioner (it has very cute windows that open outward.) I think the day time high was about 70 during my visit and just keeping one of the two (cute) windows open was enough to be comfortable. There was a fan in the closet, but I didn't need it. There was a coffee and tea set up in the room, but I found myself strolling downstairs in the evening to make a cup of herbal tea in the dining room. The highlight of my visit was being greeted by Claudia. I showed up early to drop off bags (which would have felt secure) and it turned out my room was already ready. Claudia was incredibly helpful, providing me with a map and recommending restaurants and places to visit. Without Claudia, I would have missed the aviary at Elizabeth Park. Breakfast was fun with simple egg dish options made to order (I had an omelet) and toast, croissants, oatmeal, yogurt, plenty of coffee, tea, and juice were available. Visitors suggested taking the wonderful False Creek Ferry hop on-hop off option. Thank you!"
Cassandra Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The room was clean and comfortable, and the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is also in a good area with very convenient. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it!"
Neocolonial Nouveau Kensington Vacation Home
8/10 Good
"Its a basic room rental. Well suited for what I needed."
Neocolonial Quarters
10/10 Excellent
"Really nice amenities (coffee, good fridge space, free laundry) and fixtures in the guest house. Fancier than most hotels I have been at and probably my favorite hostel have been, all at a reasonable price"
Sunset Mews Luxurious 3 Bed Townhouse
10/10 Excellent
"Everything was good clean and the host communicated p well. One thing I would say, was getting inside the house. The combination lock to get in was a bit confusing and to open the door was a little difficult also. You had to press all the light up icons so all the numbers would appear then you have to press the door in towards you then it would open."
Cambie Lodge B&B
8/10 Good
"A friend and I stayed 2 nights at the Cambie Lodge. The house was well-kept and the front yard was nice. The location was ideal-right in the middle of where we wanted to be. Fans were provided, however there is no air conditioning in the house. Wifi in the separate bedroom wasn't great. We didn't have any issues with the parking; we were able to park in the driveway both nights. My bed was comfortable and fine; my friend's bed was uncomfortable and not to her satisfaction. I enjoyed having the kitchenette and mini fridge in our suite. Breakfast was good; however, we hadn't anticipated having to travel to the next house to partake. All the staff were friendly. There were a lot of stairs-about 10 steps to get into the house; more stairs to go up or go down from that main level."
