We took the train to Castellemare and this *gorgeous* hotel is right around the corner from the train station (a 4 minute walk). It's right on the water, with a cute breezy decor -- it's from 1874!! Gorgeous beveled glass in the lobby, a gorgeous rooftop restaurant and bar overlooking the coast and a panoramic breakfast room with the most delicious options. We stayed at Grand Hotel Moon Valley from 8/22 - 8/31. All of the hotel staff was so nice & friendly from the moment we arrived. The room (seaside view) was a bit small but still comfortable for me, my husband & our 5 year old son. They quickly accomodated us by bringing a small bed into our room for my son to sleep in. We arrived by car late at night. The hotel is on an alley off of a road. Google directed us there correctly (not the case for many places in italy and particularly away from Rome). Nice off-street parking with shade trees in a garden right behind the hotel- but in view of the main building. Check in desk was open after midnight and attendant was helpful and informed. Room was clean and ready. We had a family room with bunk beds and a queen/double bed. Very basic but also very clean throughout....

This hotel is in the same building as the Naples metro which makes it very convenient to use the metro to get into the center of Naples. We wanted to find a hotel close to the Posillipo are and this hotel is perfect. A parking lot is adjacent to the hotel so it is very convenient. Hotel was clean, staff was very friendly, and they served a full breakfast with many selections. This is our third stay in this hotel.

I stayed for a week and enjoyed it very much. The room was clean and comfortable and air conditioned. The staff was exceptional and very friendly. The breakfast was five star every morning and the servers were great. Even the wifi was strong. There is a great food place across the street and a grocery store and a train stop to downtown is right there as well. This is a great little gem on the outside of town and worth it! I will stay here again in May when I return.

Naples is not always the best looking city, but viewed from the rooftop terrace, you'd never know. The room was very nice, the staff was friendly, the wifi in the room was strong, but all of these were eclipsed by the rooftop. It stunning. The hotel is located on a hill, so walking to/from there will include hills and stairs, if that is an issue. It's close to a Metro station and an inexpensive (and exciting) cab ride from anywhere in the city.

The Naples city center-or Centro Storico-is a hive of activity and some would say utter chaos. It's a rabbit warren of narrow streets and alleys, many impassible to cars. This hotel provides a luxurious, safe oasis amidst the craziness. A tremendous plus is that you can actually drive to this hotel so taxis can get there.
