"Hotel is in good location 100 meters from train station and very central to Edinburgh
Although the hotel is undergoing maintenance at the time of writing this, it seems to be not too distracting.
We had an evening meal which was fine, but the choice limited, they claimed due to being out of season
Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice for all types of tastes including cook to order omelettes, which could probably do with another station as the only one working was popular
Room and bathroom was fine, we were on 6th floor, but did not hear any noises during the night, so had a good sleep
All in all I would happily recommend this hotel "
"Second stay in this hotel. Same high standard and excellent central location.
Special call out for all the staff we encountered - extremely helpful, friendly and attentive."
"It’s a great location and the kitchen is fully equipped. The room is spacious. Value for money in view of the hotel price in the area.
A few small issues: pillows are quite high for me and the staff said there’s no other option; the hot water in the shower was not very hot; the pots, pan, and tea tower were not cleaned properly. "
"Breakfast limited in choice. To be eaten in the pub.
A varied vegetarian choice would be good.
Staff very welcoming and helpful.
Window not sealing properly in room, letting in noise and cold draught."
"Room was too hot and the sign on the wall said the solution was to open a window ... fair enough, but when the airport is right beside a busy airport and road, it didn't make for a good night's sleep at all."
