"We arrived at the check in desk at about 12.30 and we were advised that our room wouldn’t be ready until 4pm. This would be understandable in season but the resort was deserted so I don’t believe our room was still being cleaned up until 4pm when we were eventually allowed in. The apartment was very clean but there was a step ladder, a large dustpan and brush as well as an ironing board in the corner of the bathroom which made it look like a store cupboard. These would have been best placed out of site in a separate storage area. The kitchen had everything you would need to make food, and the cleaning supplies were a nice touch. The only criticism would be that a draining rack/board of some description would have been useful as there was no where to put the washing up so we had to put it on the only tea towel that was provided in order to dry everything. One thing that you would need to be aware of is that the resort is very remote and there isn’t a beach close by. There is a very busy dual carriage way as you leave the resort with no shops within walking distance. There are a couple of shops on site but they are very pricey. All in all it’s a great place to use as a base if you have a car and want to travel around the area. We drove to a large shopping mall just outside Malaga, Plaza Mayor where you can park for free and then there is a train station where you can take the train for €4 into Malaga. This takes 15 and is much easier and cheaper that trying to drive. "

"This hotel was right on the beach front and close to town, it was immaculate and clean. The attention to detail in the room was amazing and made it very comfortable for us. We booked a junior suite and looked forward to getting back to it and our very large bed for a relax. The shower was great too. It was quiet in the morning and during the night which makes a change to other hotels where we have been woken up by cleaning staff and noisy neighbours. We was only B&B but enjoyed the breakfast, coffe and juices and their was something for everyone. The staff are very friendly and happy all the time. We would reccommend and stay here again. We would probably book the Don Pedro in the same complex that is tailored to be adults only which would suot us better."

"We had a Mediterranean Sea view suite but wished that we would have booked for a Marina view room as we had no sun whatsoever on our balcony. Apart from this the hotel was amazing. "

"Lovely spacious room with stunning views from balcony. Great buffet breakfast. Quiet area with few restaurants nearby - enjoyed the Italian few mins away Pizzeria Pompei and Matilda’s coffee shop a big hit with us all too. Hotel’s rooftop terrace is great but sadly the bar was closed as was the family pool during our visit. All staff were very friendly and polite. Had a late flight home so being able to pay to keep room until 4 pm was a bonus. Highly recommend the hotel if you want to be in a quieter area of the Costa del Sol (easy access by bus or uber to Benalmadena or Fuengirola)"

"We were there 7 nights. Our room was cleaned each day. Overall the place is nice and upscale. Stayed in building 2 overseeing ocean and pool. Pool areas are not big and don't have lots of loungers. Beds were a bit hard as I woke up sore. Lobby is nice. Staff was overall ok but our stats in other RIU properties on other countries seemed a little more friendly at the bars. Mayce this is just cultural. We were there in late February. Perfect temperatures to explore. Lots of older folks with walkers or canes. Nice to see the older generation still traveling and better than loud spring breakers. I wouldn't have liked staying in the building behind the lobby. Too far from the ocean, small pool area, with no views. "

"No pool available, taped off like a crime scene. A poor 4 star hotel, seriously in need of refurbishment, staff appear stressed, no continuation of information from one shift to another. However, this hotel is functional as a stopgap, not a holiday destination."
