We absolutely loved this place. It was by far our favorite stay during our 10 days in Japan. Definitely recommend spending extra on the dinner, it was amazing.

Only issue I had is that the small Cafe at front desk opens at 9 am. It has great view and the bar is cute and cozy. Staff is kind and helpful.

The breakfast was good and staff were really kind. Theres a mall and restaurants near the hotel that we were able to check out during the day. Had easy access to parking as well.

A beautiful room in a beautiful hotel. So very close to the JR line station (200 meters door to door), easy access to the rest of Japan via the Shinkansen Trains, a great hub for exploring Western/Southern Japan. Only 30 minuets to Hiroshima, 2 hours to Osaka, and under 5 hours to Tokyo.

Very nice, spacious room with a couch. Hot spring-fed baths downstairs!

Such a quaint and charming place! The hotel reflects traditional Japanese architecture and decor. Very delicious Japanese breakfast. Extremely satisfied!! Close to bunny island too! The hotel staff helped us get a taxi to get to the bunny island dock.

Phenomenal service and gorgeous location. There was a downpour of rain when we arrived and the staff prepared four umbrellas for us to receive us and walk us to our room. The room was spotless and we had a great view of the lake.

This is an older hotel, as you can see from the photos, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained it is. A typical business hotel with everything you need. This was a very nice, straightforward hotel with everything we needed. The room was spacious, and the large bathroom was well designed. Breakfast was merely passable, but reasonable for the price. The automated check-in and checkout did not work for us, even with staff assistance, though the system may work better for regular guests. I have been attracting by Setouchi Shimanami Kaito bike touring for a long time through Taiwanese cycling enthusiasts. At age 75, my wife thinks I am crazy. I booked two nights at Suminoe for 6/17 and 18. The spacious room with ocean view and bidet toilet are very impressive. Miss Wang who is in charge, is very intelligent. She suggested and drove me to the Ikuchijima bike shop to rent a nice one. I started around 9 AM in light rain and stayed cool. No trouble going across Tatara Bridge, but...

Fukuyama city is a hidden jewel. Most of the bullet trains stop here and the access to major places, including Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Yokohama, Tokyo, and Fukuoka is a direct line. If you want to visit Tomonoura where major movies scenes were taken, including Studio Ghibli and The Wolverine, I highly recommend Fukuyama.

The room was clean and organized. Near to the place I wanted to go. I asked question always got response quick. It was a pleasant stay. I would like to come back 100 %!!

Room are small, but that is fine when you travel. The bed is best suited for one or couples. The walk is reasonable from the station roo. Host is also very responsive as we had two back to back reservations and they responded quickly for us to stay in the same room. Would definitely recommend to others.
