The hotel is not quite "ekimae" (in front of the station), but it's only a couple of blocks away. Friendly and solicitous staff went a long way toward making my stay enjoyable. And the price-performance is good, especially when Hiroshima hotels are full or crazily priced. One thing: I had to book a "smoking" room, because all the non-smoking rooms were booked. There's a reason they were all booked, Japan hoteliers: no one wants a smoking room, not even smokers. End smoking in hotel rooms!

This is an older hotel, as you can see from the photos, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained it is. A typical business hotel with everything you need. It was the first hotel during my six weeks in Japan that provided charging cables for all kinds of devices. The breakfast was good, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The location is excellent, very close to both the train station and the ferry terminal. My personal highlight was the onsen. It is small, but very nice and exceptionally clean. The owner is extremely polite, welcoming, and helpful. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I truly enjoyed my stay.

Decent Biz Hotel near the station and port. SuperHotels tend to have nice/fresh patisseries for breakfast, eggs & sausages not so appetizing though (bland/lukewarm). Staff were ok (checkin is 3pm though not 2.45pm or a bit earlier even if your room is ready). Mihara > meh but okonoumichi was nice (no food nor cafe on the island though)
