Great location close to the beach. Great price for the area and quality. Wonderful breakfast each day. Only suggestion would be to work on the drainage for the AC units. The condensation drops from the above unit onto the unit in the room making a constant dripping noise. Great place overall.

Staff was great. Definitely pay the $40 for nightly parking on Sunday and Thursday nights so you don’t get towed on Ala Wai Blvd. Great room location was walkable. We payed a little more to have the executive suite and it was well worth it. We will definitely be back.

The staff was amazing and the best part of the hotel. As usual with Double tree, the beds were really comfortable. It was very centrally located to shops, restaurants and the beach (all about a 5 minute walk). For the price I would absoultely recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Everything felt great but I would recommend adding a few small items to the breakfast. On the website it looked like there would be bagels and juice options and fruit but all there were was croissants and chocolate muffins and then cereal which doesn’t really give a full continental breakfast set up. Was very disappointed in that since that’s partially why I booked a stay here, the breakfast. But other than that everything was good

Great stay. Easy walk to the main strip of Waikiki. Parking is steal being free and only a short two blocks away. Staff is very nice, beds comfortable. Rooms clean. My 6 yo enjoyed the pool. I would stay here again anytime.

It is an old hotel, but all the facilities were clean and pleasant. The hotel swimming pool facilities were good, and Waikiki Beach was also visible from the accommodation. The best thing was the accessibility. It was convenient to walk to Waikiki Beach, close to the shopping center, and take a shuttle to cultural facilities nearby.

A quick 5 minute walk to the best stretch of beach! We loved our home away from home. The fully stocked kitchen and spacious suite really made our stay quite comfortable. The staff really exemplified the Aloha spirit and provided such great hospitality. We will definitely be staying here again for our future trips to Honolulu.

This was my first trip to Hawaii and I enjoyed my stay at the Waikiki Malia. My room was clean and had all of the amenities I needed. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located within walking distance of many shopping, dining options and the beach. Transportation was also convenient as you can catch the #20 bus for $3 from the airport and it drops you off in front of the hotel. The pink Waikiki Trolley is available for a tour of the area. Trip to Honolulu, HI. We had already paid in advance for our entire stay. But, out of the blue my card on file was charged again for a week stay. No one contacted me. We found out when we tried to place a charge to my card and it was declined. We were so embarrassed b/c we knew how much we had in our account for this trip. The manager on duty offered 50% off on a second meal, and a free meal. Please…a week stay was charged to our card when we had paid that week stay in advance…well over $1800...

This is my new favorite hotel in Waikiki! If you’re looking for a smaller hotel that isn’t a big resort, this is a GREAT option! Newly renovated less than 2yrs ago so everything is new, it’s clean, the staff is amazing, the rooftop pool is nice and has good views, the Heavenly restaurant downstairs has AMAZING breakfast! … I can’t say enough good things about my stay here. I’ll be back next visit!

My ocean view room was the perfect stay for mine & my families visit to Waikīkī. We added the breakfast option which was perfect and saved us some coins as food in the area can get pricey. The location and ocean were nice. It was very quiet except for the sounds of the ocean and you didn't know if guests were next door or in the hall. The towels, yes the towels, were very absorbant and soaked up the water on your skin. Have stayed here often over the years but not recently until this stay, the upgrades to rooms and AC are outstanding and the whole place has been upgraded. For those coming from afar there are THREE ABC stores a phenom in Hawaii, within a few hundred yards of the Hotel meaning you could come with nothing and up to 11pm we well equipped for your stay. I loved the staff and environment, I always go for a boutique style hotel to support the small businesses and I thought it was amazing. And a really good price also. To whoever is in these reviews saying they wanted it to be more resort like and BS like that should have booked at a resort if they wanted all the perks. I would just say everyone should stay here when going to Oahu because the staff where so excellent.
