First off, this is an historic resort, and it is not air conditioned. Our room had a tower fan that ran continually and as soon as it cooled down at night, we got the windows open.
Second, this is not a resort for small children, as there isn’t really much for them to do - no pool, no playground. However it is an excellent place for adults to use as a base of operations for exploring in the area. Great breakfast, a wonderful main lodge and patio, as well as a porch swing out front.
As a historic building be prepared to see the age, in some creaky boards in the walkways, and a bit of a struggle to get the windows open or closed. But it’s all so worth it! We will certainly be back.
