I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The condition of the room was subpar for the price we paid per night. There was peeling paint/wall plaster throughout the hotel and the room we were assigned, the tub/shower was chipped in multiple places and there were rust stains...likely from the DRIP DRIP DRIP that LOUDLY went on the entire time we were there and kept my husband awake! There were stains on the carpet and the door into the room was questionable. The signs of history throughout the hotel were quaint (glass doorknobs, brass mail slit between the elevator doors, the old water stations in the hallways, etc.), but, if I'm paying as much per night as the NEW hotel down the street, I expect better. The Staff were great...that was a definite positive. However, when we checked in, the computers were down and they proceeded to xerox copy my ID and credit card - which I was SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE with. Upon checkout, the computers still were not back up and the front desk gal didn't want to hand me back the copies they made, but went to speak to her boss and came back handing me the photocopies. I will not come back here to stay until I have confirmed that the rooms have indeed been updated completely. We actually heard that the hotel has been in the process of update the last 4 years already.
