The hotel is very well located on the edge of the casbah and has lots of charm. We found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We stayed twice (first for 3 nights and then for our last night in Algeria) and would totally recommend this accommodation for budget travellers who want to be in the very centre of the city centre. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was self-service and fine.

Stayed at Hotel Afric Casbah at either end of a week-long trip to Algeria. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. Benefitted from a sea view. Very handy to the Metro station and a straightforward walk into the centre of town. Convenience store across the road. Recommended.

Best roof terrace in Algiers!

The hotel is found in the perfect location to explore Algiers. It's a bit basic but it's got great AC and it's clean. We were particularly impressed by the breakfast and amazing roof terrace with the best views of the city. The bathroom and room seemed a bit old but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Friendly and helpful staff in the centre of Algier

Excellent location in the centre of the city. Close the Casbah and the seafront. Great options for dining. Included breakfast was very handy. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. I will never forget the fantastic view from the room.

Amazing service. Hotel is run down, leaking pipes in bathroom, beds short, and ok breakfast. Wifi not working well. Can hear everything happening outside room. Great location and Staff amazing and a amazing view of the ocean from the 6th floor.

The best part about this hotel are the staff. They are excellent and give plenty of recommendations and help. They let me store some extra bags there while I was away for a few days. The points for improvement are the cleaning. While it is not a big problem they don’t to à very complete clean of the rooms. Things such as dust on the floor and water in the bathrooms should be better cleaned. Good location right next to a metro stop

Great walkable location. Hotel rooms were dirty with black mold. Mattresses were stained and entry door was broken. The staff were extremely once, but couldn’t do anything about it. Breakfast was terrible and the walls were thin, so you can hear everyone

The great thing about this hotel is it is right in the Casbah neighborhood. It's just such an interesting and historic location, which you are not going to find if you stay in a 4-5 star hotel. The staff is exceptional, and they cannot do enough for you. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable. This is not a 4 star property with lots of amenities. It is an old building with a 6 floor walk up, with small rooms and unusual plumbing. If you know that going in, and don't have unreasonable expectations, it is a wonderful place to stay. We had a great experience, overall. Our thanks to the staff!

Very bad hotel. Isn’t as described. The room very very small, dirty and unclean . Very small bathroom. Also no elevator , so it’s very hard to carry the luggage to the 5th and 4th floor. Also wi-fi is not working , tv not working. We changed 3 times the room but unfortunately all are in very bad shape. Don’t book in this hotel please

It is a terrible property, and location very noisy and not easily accessible. Should not be listed on this site. I made payment for two nights.(4th to 6th September 2025) But ran out of the place in less than 24 hours. What I paid for, wasn’t what I got. The pictures in the listing are deceptive. We were given a room on the 6th floor with no elevators. The rooms were miserably small. The bathroom small with a broken toilet. While taking breakfast, I saw a cockroach on one of the tables in the dining room. I won’t recommend this place to anyone. VERY TERRIBLE!!! I

It is a very basic hotel. Do not expect luxury. The plumbing leaks in the bathroom, noise from the busy casbah neighborhood fills your room but you get to watch life going by from your balcony. Why I am giving 5 stars? Phenomenal service, and cleanliness. Breakfast is realy nothing but cofee and some stale pastries but it is 24 hours available with a refrigerator filled with unlimited water. My husband and I are old. The service the staff provided us will be memorabl. We came back at the end of our two weeks in the country for this service. Thd neighborhood is fascinating even during Ramadan. If we come back, we will stay here again,

J'avais fait une demande avant mon arrivée pour qu'on m'attribue une chambre au 1er étage mais rien à été fait et on était au 4eme étage. Personnel désagréable quand vous leur faîte une réclamation. Il n'y avait pas d'eau chaude dans notre chambre et cela ne lui a pas plu lorsque nous avons fait la remarque.
