The location was ideal and walkable to waterside and town sights, the rooms were clean with very quick attention to any minor problems, the staff was superlative (especially concierge Flore), and the free parking and free breakfast, with eggs, sausage, cheesy potatos, danishes, fruit, cereal, etc., were just bonuses!
The front desk is anti social or needs a quick refresher on people skills. Housekeeping and Maintenance team you gals and gals rock. These two team are very professional, polite, and overall great people. Our room AC died and maintenance came in a jiffy and addressed the situation. The landscape is very beautiful and the barn gym was great-could have weights for bodybuilders. Pool water temperature was warm and pool side clean. Surrounding area looks run down or not so inviting.

We booked a two night stay so there was a gratis breakfast basket waiting for us in our room--the homemade banana bread is just like mom used to make! The kitchenette is fully appointed with utensils, dishes, even a corkscrew. We found a full-sized coffee maker with tons of coffee and fixins, including flavored creamers. From the time we arrived and were greeted by Katy to the time we left three days later we were treated royally. The B&B is so charming and the grounds are park-like. We stayed in the Sun Room and although small inside, the private deck is amazing! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfasts served on our deck were delicious and served graciously. The location is so convenient for walking around downtown but we enjoyed the atmosphere at the Simpson House so much that we hung out...
Somehow, they make this motel a 5 star experience. Accommodations are excellent. And staff is helpful. There are so many touches that take this hotel to the next level. I couldn’t recommend it more!!
