Lovely friendly helpful staff. Great value room compared to other places nearby. The window above the room door let light in when other guests walked by the rooms and the automatic light switched on, but this was very infrequent and otherwise no complaints. Would stay here again!

Great location, shabby hotel

Great central location, peaceful and good parking - but all a bit shabby and basic for the price. Room walls rather thin and noise carries through. Breakfast was good. The idea is good, but this is all rather tired and needs some investment to make as nice as it could be. If your primary concern is location and you are driving, this is a great choice. If you want somewhere of a high standard in terms of rooms this isn’t it.

Quirky historic hotel in a very quiet part of the city, but just a few minutes walk from the centre. Great staff, lovely breakfast. Well appointed room and bathroom. Only slight criticism is that the double bed was two singles pushed together and they were very "mobile" so would drift apart easily!

Room was lovely and clean and full of character - we picked the deluxe double with garden view (room 0.1). The stone floors and walls were quite cold which is to be expected but do bring some slippers - however as the bathroom ventilation wasn't good, this mesnt water pooled/condesated on all surfaces. The main issue was sound insulation - at night we could hear noise from rooms around us, people walking up the stairs, televisions, and all the plumbing and whenever someone used the bathroom! Made for a very communal experience. The ventilation system also made a lot of loud noises as it turned on and off through the night. As the cherry on top, a random man opened our room door at 09:30 and showed himself in - much to our alarm! Definitely an experience and the building itself was beautiful, we may have just not lucked out on our room allocatjon - however we won't be recommending to our family/friends.
