First impression was that it looked run down, poorly maintained. There was no heating in our room. Left part of socket was faulty so two electric heaters which they brought did not heat, initially. Eventually we had heating in the radiator because we were told the boiler wasn’t working. The carpets, particularly in the corridors looked filthy, although they had been hoovered, really disgraceful. Bedroom curtains hanging from rail plus a large crack in the window. No tv instructions and tv not easy to operate. No cooked breakfast, limited choice, particularly bread. Sliced white bread only, no bread rolls and croissants only available on the second day. Juice diluted. Coffee luke warm.Poor quality.
Very limited choice of cereal. We have spent many breaks in The Honest Lawyer in Durham, another Best Western Hotel which was far superior . There is no way we would stay in that hotel again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone. My husband asked for a reduction in the £200 price which was immediately refused because we booked through Expedia. Would you consider this.
