My single room at The Telstar was so small that I couldn't even open up my umbrella to dry it out. I spent much of my time in the room with my teeth chattering because the small radiator simply didn't generate enough heat to warm the bedroom and the postage-stamp-sized bathroom. When I checked in, I specifically asked if housekeeping was provided every day and I was assured that it was. Upon returning the first day around 4:30 p.m.,however, the bed was still unmade and the towels hadn't been replaced. I reported it to the woman at the front desk and she brought up clean towels and cleaned the bathroom sink herself. Housekeeping did show up the next day, but left me without a bath mat. Because I was cold and wet from being out all day, I decided to take a hot shower. But even after running the water for about 15 minutes, it was still only luke warm, although the water first thing in the morning was nice and hot. Probably the only thing I can say in The Telstar's favor is that the full English breakfast served every morning was excellent and the servers were pleasant and efficient.
