Beautiful property in classic building, centrally located off main public square. Totally agree with recent reviewer, may be the best hotel shower (pressure and temperature) I’ve ever had. Walking distance to restaurants and waterfront, try Le Chocolat for a decadent treat. Lomitos fun for good sandwiches and ice cream.

Staff not very helpful came in 1 minute past 20 and they wouldn’t feed us and do we went to bar then we had to hunt down someone to serve us Was leaving on tour before breakfast and they would get us a breakfast box or anything atall to take with us

This hotel is very central. I chose it for its proximity to the departure point for my Viator tours - just a short 5 minute walk away. It is a charming and lovely hotel with a great bar and restaurant. It's theme is around the Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton which gave it an old-fashioned, old-worldy feel of sophistication and elegance. The room was very comfortable with modern amenities though there was no air conditioning but a window that opened kept the room comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful and all of them spoke English - if you know a little Spanish you might find that helpful though. This is a hub for Silver Seas, so there was a lot of coming and going activity of large groups, but that did not inconvenience me at all. The food was very good at the restaurant. A very central location - puts you in the heart of the city and a short walk to the ocean. I enjoyed my stay very much.

The hotel is really beautiful, the rooms are a little small, but comfortable, the bed are also cozy and very clean. the breakfast is good enough, but we have a bad experience in our first breakfast, the staff in the breakfast was very rude and unpolite, we were the only people at the breakfast room, but no one came to check if we need anything. but in general we have a good experience

Good location, very limited parking despite showing as included. Beautiful building with a nice bar that we could not use due to private event. Room standar, not very spacious. This is a very nice property with an incredible history. You can’t beat the location. The double room is so tiny - difficult to find enough space to navigate if there are two of you. Bathroom is a fair size but the sink is no bigger than the airplane sink so difficult to wash up. Frankly speaking, I recommend reading in advance which I failed to do so, beforehand about Jose Nogueria’s participation towards the extinction of Selk’nam natives. My conscious tells me to choose otherwise next time.

Not worth the money

When checking in the hotel did not accept out debit OR our credit card. We had to go to an ATM machine to get cash. We were in a bigger trip, and everywhere else in Chile we were able to use our cards. To go to an ATM machine they couldn’t even give us the right directions. The front desk from another hotel nearby helped us (even though ee were not staying there). So we payed the hotel in cash and no receipt eas giving to us. Checking out, there was a different person on the reception desk who couldn’t find out wheter ee had payed or not. Also, no knowledge of the city, the front desk couldn’t even give us restaurants informations. The location is good and the hotel (an old historic building) is nice, but the staff really need to improve.
