What my husband and I love most about this place is its privacy and tranquility; they make us feel right at home. The most magical and wonderful surprise! We booked our stay not knowing anything about the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. We like a low key less crowded experience and this property hit every bell and whistle per the reviews and description. To our happy surprise... it was all that and more! The staff was 100% amazing as well as the hotel location, it's bars and it's food. Prices very reasonable. We are coming back in two months and have already booked our next stay for early Sept... the Marala Hotel will be our home base for 5 nights out of our 9 night trip. We are so excited.

This hotel is a unique gem and not only is it beautiful, but it has everything all in one picture perfect place. Oh, the view!!! The Pool!! The Drinks!!! The Food!!! But for all that, to us, what makes this hotel so special, hands down, is the staff. They all are so kind, helpful, personable, and simply wonderful. We love Tina A at the front desk during the day who is absolutely amazing and makes sure to check in with you that everything is going well, to Alfonso in the evenings, to Shalim, Bryan, and Susan serving up the best drinks and food and always making sure to you have everything you need. The kitchen staff at the Marala are top notch and the food is absolutely wonderful. The grounds are meticulously kept beautiful by maintenance, and you feel like you are in a little slice of paradise. The rooms are simple, and we like that. The beds are the most comfortable clouds to sleep on with equally amazing down bedding. The maids do a great job daily too. We are planning to return to Costa Rica hopefully in March and the Marala will most definitely part of our trip again.

We really enjoyed our quiet stay at Marala. It was very clean, the room and bathroom were large and the entirety of the front of the resort offered amazing views. This place is about 1hour and 45min from SJO and it was the perfect trip for a few days to visit nearby Parrita and Jaco. We wanted a quiet romantic bitoque hotel and it’s exactly what we got.
