Beautiful property. The Belmond Maroma is a small hotel set in a lush tropical garden along the beach. The common areas are gorgeous and the rooms are private and quiet. There are several serene pools and great seating & umbrellas on the beach. The staff are wonderful - friendly and helpful. The breakfast is divine and dinners excellent. The only downside is the seaweed on the beach which is an issue all along the Yucatan coast. The hotel rakes the beach clean each morning.

This property continues to hit way above it's benchmark, at least in terms of the deal I found. Service, accommodations, amenities, food, the entire experience is superb. Out of 5 stars, though, I'd deduct 1/2 star for the unhappy increase in the club or lounge music around the property. When the only complaint you can have about a place is that they are almost TOO attentive, then you are really staying at a true 5 star place. Everything here is first class and it is truly a very different experience from the typical Playa all inclusive places. First off, the grounds are beautiful. Best food I have had at a resort in Mexico.

Technically this wasn't a vacation, it was our honeymoon. I found this place on some Google list of top 10 most romantic honeymoon spots and it did not dissapoint. The grounds are beautiful. We were looking for a small non-resort hotel on the beach where we could relax peacefully, and Petit Lafitte is exactly that. As soon as we arrived at Lafitte we were welcomed home by the desk staff and concierge. Loved this resort! It was quiet and restful. Having the ability to go to the sister resorts for additional food options, entertainment, and spas was an amazing treat and bonus. They provided transportation but it was literally a 4 minute walk on the beach. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Just a fabulous experience.

This is a great, little resort. The beach is, in my opinion, is one of the best in the area. It is white and powdery. The staff rakes it each morning so there are no rocks or debris. There could be more beach chairs, but the staff work very hard to assure that you get a chair. My room was perfectly located within walking distance to the beach. Everything was amazing! The daily breakfast that was included was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend the French fries and guacamole pool side as well. Luis, our pool side attendant and Aram, our concierge, were top notch, along with everyone else that works there! Our only challenge was we weren’t aware it was a cashless resort, so we weren’t able to break our big bills for individual tips. We recommend you bring small bills ($1’s and $5’s) for tipping purposes!

The service at the Viceroy is out of this world, every time we thought it couldn't get any better it did. I have extensive allergy issues and the chef and wait staff went so far out of their way to ensure I was well fed! The one downside was the bed was not all that comfortable but the rooms were large and clean and the private pool was to die for. This property is fantastic if your desire is to go to a laid back property and have a relaxing but fun time. It is not packed with party hungry 18 year olds. We noticed the guests were mostly couples and friend trips made up of ladies or couples. While they say tips are not expected, they really are.
