The room we received was quite different from the pictures, but the price was affordable, so you get what you pay for. The staff, however, were great—very friendly and helpful.

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed

The room wasn't as I expected on the website. It looks bigger on the website. They might've made it by photoshop. These are really tiny rooms (you can't imagine bathroom). They didn't renew towels and slippers everyday. I always had to ask for it. The receptionist hardly could speak Turkish as they are Arabic and Türkmen. I wouldn't stay here again. It was too bad experience. Never ever again..

Rooms and bedrooms with moulds

The bedrooms had mould on the wall and the barhrooms had mould averywhere. The rooms and bathrooms were not cleaned at all and the sheets were not replaced every day. The bed was tidy up to give the impression that the sheets been changed. The rooms did not have some basic items such as mugs even thought the cattle was in the rooms. I would say that the towels were changed daily as well as the consumables were provided too.

‼️Check reviews on Google before booking as Expedia reviews are fake‼️ This was the most dirty and disgusting place I have ever seen in my life, with the most sexist and racist staff members. There were: - mould on the walls and bathroom - dried blood stains on the mattress - bugs in the room - a peephole through the lock - a bedsheet with stains that does not cover the entire bed (which is how I saw the dirty mattress) - and last but not least, stuff members who laugh at customers and say “it’s dried blood! Not new blood” and “no one dies from mould”. Filthy place. Also the room will not look like the photos, the Leila hotel is actually 3 old buildings that should be torn down masking as “hotel” and first they put me in a basement room, but I booked a window room which cost most money, so I refused then they moved me to 2 more rooms before I could finally go into one, and the one I went into was horrid as described above. This whole ordeal also took 3 hours, the whole time the stuff members were laughing at me and one of them physically mocking my weight with puffing up their arms and face. They were incredibly rude and mean. Please don’t stay here.

Not Fit for Purpose I had a thoroughly disappointing experience at this hotel, and I cannot recommend it. First, I was assigned a budget room despite booking a standard one. This "budget" room was shocking: Located in the basement with no windows. The door couldn't be locked, and the door frame was falling apart. Behind a false wall, there was exposed, free-flowing water with a shoddy repair attempt in the middle. The pillows were yellow-stained, and the headboard had unidentifiable stains. The bathroom was covered in mildew. Disturbingly, both the room and bathroom mirrors had blood stains. The stairwell and corridor were filthy, with accumulated dirt in the corners and on the steps. When I complained, the staff initially insisted I had booked a budget room and demanded extra payment for an upgrade. After proving my original booking was for a standard room, they begrudgingly moved me to another room. Unfortunately, the second room was only marginally better: The door still wouldn’t lock. The bathroom was again full of mildew, which I ended up cleaning myself. The shower's extractor fan had overheated, melting through the plastic cover and leaving exposed live wiring—a serious safety hazard. On top of this, the main door to the building was left open 24/7, which felt very unsafe. To make matters worse, on two occasions, an extension lead ran across the street into a construction courtyard where noisy work continued late into the night. Avoid at all cost

Avoid! I've traveled to nearly 50 countries and have stayed in a wide variety of hotels and hands down, this was one of the worst. Hotel staff mixed up reservations and gave our room away. As a compensation, they offered to pack a "free" breakfast for us early the next morning, as we had an early flight to catch. The breakfast was already paid for and they offered this as a compensation for their mix up. Despite having a receipt that verified a paid breakfast, staff was adamant it was not. They wound up compensating by $14USD in cash after a lot of negotiating. This was the last night on our anniversary trip and disappointing. Paid for a room w a sea view and wound up in a cramped room- bathroom door wouldn't stay open and even a quick shower flooded the bathroom floor because of poor design. Lumpy uneven bed and half used hygiene supplies were left from the guests beforehand; was the room cleaned prior to our visit? Mini fridge also did not work in the room. All in all, this was a mess of a hotel- would not recommend to anyone. The only perk is it's location and being so walkable to various sites around SultanAhmet. This was my 3rd time to Istanbul- will definitely be coming back to Turkey but never this hotel.
