It was perfect in every way! Well, except we didn't stay long enough. So clean, airy, friendly and easy. Anne Marie & Henk are so helpful from the moment you step inside. Haarlem is beautiful & clean & safe. We rented the hotel bikes and rode to the sea- through the natural Forrest. We saw wild horses, cattle, sheep, birds... And the sea was lovely! Highly recommend seeing the area on their bikes! We look forward to returning!

Great hotel; it may be old but it wears its age well. (Old in this case doesn't mean dirty or frayed at the edges). Quiet room, very soft comfortable bed. Food in the restaurant, especially dinner was very good with very good steaks available; breakfast was adequate as a little more variety would be nice. Very friendly and attentive staff in the hotel, always a sincerely warm greeting when I passed by the front desk.

The staff is wonderful!!! We had a number of questions and needed a taxi. They helped us out with a local taxi service that was good, safe, and more affordable than random taxis. We had some issues with an injury and they supplied us with ice on many occasions, as well as helped to find stores to get an ACE wrap at. We loved the location, and the bed situation was perfect for our family of 5–one queen, a bunk bed, and a single. The shower wall didn’t keep the water contained to the shower, and the bathroom floor was usually wet. We could hear some conversations from the street below at night, but mostly we were so tired it didn’t matter. The room was pretty clean, but when I was looking for something I had dropped, I saw lots of dust under the beds. We loved Haarlem and would stay there again!

All the rooms are different which makes them interesting. Comfortables beds, though pillows could be softer. Free bottle of champagne in suite was nice surprise. Loved the tea and pressed coffee set up in room for mornings or chilly afternoons. A steamer in the closet is better than ironing board.
