Learn more about Monterosso al Mare
Dive into the most touristed of the Cinque Terre villages, where a proper beach awaits sun-worshippers unlike its four sister towns. The expansive shoreline at Monterosso Beach and Fegina Beach offers a rare commodity on this rugged coastline. Medieval towers and colorful houses create a postcard backdrop for seaside trattorias serving local anchovies paired with Ligurian wines. Hiking trails connect to neighboring villages through the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area, revealing spectacular coastal views. Take a break from exploring to visit the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora di Soviore or contemplate the San Francesco d'Assisi Statue. For a perfect afternoon, book a treatment at 5terre Massage followed by wine tasting at Cantina du Sciacchetra or Buranco Agriturismo.

Hotel Firenze E Continentale
"Perfect location to access the train or downtown. Perfect access to parking garage. Room was recently renovated so is beautiful. Just the air-conditioning could be a little colder."
Grand Hotel Villa Balbi
"This is a great location if you are looking to explore Cinque Terre and Portofino as they are easily accessible for day trips. Also very easy to walk around Sestri Levante. We stayed in a junior suite with our 2 children. The suite was spacious and clean upon arrival and we received a daily refresh with clean towels. A pre-stocked minifridge still had space for us to stick a few items of our own in it. We opted for the daily breakfast package which I highly recommend as there were many good choices and a premium coffee maker. The kids enjoyed all the pastries and breads. As a gluten sensitive person I was impressed that they had some prepacked gluten free options at breakfast and supplemented with fruit, eggs, and breakfast meats. The pool was a nice perk and made for a relaxing late afternoon treat for the kids. We did not use the beach across the roadway but it did look nice. We ended up using another beach on the other side of Sestri Levante and rented chairs there; it was a quiet bay with paddle board rentals. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the bar was well stocked. It's probably more like a 4.75 but I didn't want to discount the place or the staff with a 4. It's a very old but elegant building so there are some areas that look tired but it was extremely clean. I wish I had gotten more photos to post but I was enjoying it so much that I forgot."
