Best city in Europe for museums. Well positioned for onward travel in all directions. Restaurants not as expensive as many other big CH cities. Public transport outstandingly good - even tram to Germany (where everything is far cheaper than CH).

Has it all on a small scale. Quiet charming streets with beautiful old homes. Hopping streets with bars and restaurants. Not overrun with tourists. Fun locals. Trolleys galore! Good food! Good for strolling, shopping, having a beer, relaxing.

Cleanest, nicest, least crowded city in most of Europe. Big city with small town feel is an apt description. Beware though, everything (EVERYthing) is closed on Sunday and most stores are closed after 6.

Buy food from supermarkets like Migros and Co-op and enjoy cheap meals sitting by the river, you will save a lot of money rather than eating in restaurants and cafes the whole time!

Not the most touristy city but it's great to enjoy a city like a local not overloaded with tourist and instagramers. Many architectural spots and the art galleries are a must.

If you are into art and architecture lots to see, worth a drive out to the Vitra Campus and take the easy tram ride to the Foundation Beyler. Some of the river ferries only operate in summer. Basel card is good for transport and reduced entry tickets

Basel is very much a city that caters for cyclists so watch out when walking the numerous paths as it seems no one has invested in a bell so you have no warning of them approaching, probably at speed, from behind !
"I have stayed at this in hotel many times but this time I was upgraded which was nice especially when your here in business and you want a little more room to relax, I would recommend Raddison Blu for future visits."
"Will recommend hotel. Be careful with the 3 steps from the bedroom to the bath area at night. Great breakfast and Everything within walking distance. Simply a great place to stay. "
