Learn more about Sturgeon Bay
A working shipyard sits at the heart of this maritime city, where tugboats nudge massive freighters through the canal connecting Lake Michigan to Green Bay. The Door County Maritime Museum celebrates the area's nautical heritage with ship models and lighthouse lenses that once guided sailors home. Third Avenue's historic district houses galleries and shops in century-old buildings. Local fishermen still bring their catch to waterfront restaurants, where whitefish and perch appear on menus with deserved pride. The Farm offers hands-on encounters with rural life, while cherry orchards beyond town provide sweet rewards in summer. Rent kayaks to explore the protected waters where pleasure boats and working vessels share the same channels.

"Great staff. Excellent location to everything. Nice gardens"
Super 8 by Wyndham Sturgeon Bay

"Our itinerary went as scheduled"
Bridgeport Waterfront Resort
8/10 Good
"The 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite was very nice with a nice kitchen and living area. The 2nd bedroom did not have air conditioning which was horrible because it was very hot while we were there. My daughter ended up sleeping on the sofa bed in the family room which was not good. When we checked into the hotel, it had a horrible mold smell and they need to take care of that. Thankfully the room didn’t smell like mold. The outdoor pool was great though and my granddaughter had fun swimming. Sturgeon Bay is a nice town with good shopping and restaurants and a great farmers market on Saturdays. It is about a half hour + drive to get to Egg Harbor, Sister Bay and the other towns in Door County though."
Cherry Hills Golf & Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Good breakfast, comfortable bed, very good view on golf course and quiet"
White Birch Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Simple decor in the room. Clean and everything you need. Comfortable beds. Quiet. We enjoyed the antiques in the hall and the cozy reception area. Fish fry on Friday night is a Wisconsin tradition. Get the Lake Perch! Yum."
AmericInn by Wyndham Sturgeon Bay
8/10 Good
"Overall, the stay was very good. The rooms are very comfortable and it looks like the beds and bedding have been recently updated. The fridge worked great. The water for the shower never got very warm either day and when I came down at 8:45 for breakfast, there was no food left on a Saturday (breakfast ends at nine). It was very busy, but I don’t believe that they replenished the food which typically happens even if it’s towards the end."
Snug Harbor Inn
10/10 Excellent
"One of the best places I've stayed. The view, the location, quaint, everything you need is right there or a short trip to town."
Chanticleer Guest House
8/10 Good
"This experience was wonderful! Off the beaten path this place has acreage galore with great walking paths, beautiful landscaping, beautiful trees and a pool!!it is so quiet you can almost hear a pin drop. All you hear are the birds. The morning breakfast may have been my favorite of all. Each morning they deliver a basket full of the most delicious breakfast. I miss that the most. We ate it outside on our semi private deck- although it was private, no others while we were out there, just so good!!! Also loved the plate of cooking in the lobby when we were coming or going. If I had one semi complaint it would be the bed. Very squeaky. Easily fixable. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, this is the place❤️"
