"If you're looking for a peaceful stay with a relaxing view, this is the hotel. While it appears to be undergoing renovations, the property was clean and quiet. The staff was also friendly and helpful. There's not a lot of amenities, but the room had a larger mini-fridge and a decent sized microwave. Also, the patio facing the river was a perfect way to unwind."

"Very nice stay overall. However, there was a problem with the shower. Very difficult to get a comfortable combination of hot and cold water. Very low water pressure. Front desk agent moved us to a different room with slight improvement but still not good. This was a 4 night stay. For the amount we paid, especially for the weekend nights, we expect a better shower. Also, entrance to hotel in back from parking lot needs to be weeded."

"Beautiful building and very helpful staff. But it is a historic building with some of the lack of accessibility that entails. I don’t request accessible rooms because I feel others may have more need than I have. But I found it very challenging to have a bathroom with a low toilet and no grab bars. I hope they will consider upgrading to comfort height and adding grab bars for all their guests."

"We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for many activities in Northern Michigan. Our stay was quiet and relaxing in such a beautiful desolate location. The newly renovated wing was beautiful and the resort thought of many great things. The only thing we wished to change was all the walking to go back and forth because our room was so far on the other end of the hotel. The water bottle station by the pool and then ice machines near were fabulous and all hotels should invest in such. Only thing I could think to change is to have a mini fridge in the room vs. the wine fridge."
