Del Pilar... AMAZING property surrounded by mountains (some snow-capped)! Although this hotel is about 15-20 minutes outside of Ollantaytambo, it's definitely worth staying outside of town with the great restaurant, super-friendly staff and beautiful, clean rooms. I would highly suggest staying in the 2-bedroom condos, which are really awesome!

My husband and I had a great stay here the night before we visited Machu Picchu. The staff (especially the concierge, Soledad) were all friendly and helpful. Our bed was large and comfy, and we looked out over the stream, which provided nice white noise. The breakfast was really good - fruit salad with a yogurt sauce and cereal, fresh eggs cooked to order, local bread, ham & cheese slices and coffee/tea.

They accommodated our breakfast time so we could get in line for the bus in time for our 8 a.m. entry to Machu Pichu.
They also had massage on site, but we did not have time for that, sadly.
Tip: if you are not traveling light, they will transfer your luggage to/from the station for 35 soles. Totally worth it, because you have to walk up the hill to get there!

After reading reviews of Aguas Calientes in general, I was leery of the accommodations available. This was so inaccurate! The town is much better than what I read, and this hotel was the best one yet! (Better than Cuzco, Lima, and Ollantaytambo) The bed was bigger than my king at home. That alone made me smile when I walked in. I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for three nights and loved it. It actually felt like a vacation.
I came to Aguas Calientes alone as a solo female traveler heading up to Machu Picchu, and this place was absolutely perfect in every way. Jaw dropping river views with the rushing water so loud, I was in heaven. I loved my morning coffee on the patio looking at the river. The service was impeccable and the breakfasts hearty - all I could have hoped for.
